GROUP DISCUSSION
Organised by the Physics Club
Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe
Date: 12 December 2024 | Time: 11:00 AM

The Physics Club of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, conducted a Group Discussion on 12 December 2024 at 11:00 AM. The programme aimed to encourage collaborative learning, critical thinking, and effective communication among student teachers through the discussion of physics-related themes.

The event began with a welcome address by the club coordinator, who highlighted the importance of group discussions in developing analytical skills and fostering deeper understanding of scientific concepts. Students were divided into small groups, each assigned a physics topic such as energy conservation, applications of electromagnetism, recent innovations in physics, climate change and physics, and the role of physics in modern technology.

Participants actively engaged in exchanging ideas, analysing concepts, and presenting viewpoints supported by examples and scientific reasoning. The interactive nature of the discussion helped students clarify misconceptions, build confidence, and enhance their ability to articulate concepts clearly.

Faculty members observed and guided the groups, offering constructive feedback and encouraging meaningful participation. The activity provided an enriching platform for students to strengthen their academic skills and collaborative learning abilities.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, appreciating the efforts of the principal, faculty members, coordinators, and all participants for contributing to the success of the event. The group discussion effectively promoted scientific thinking and teamwork among student teachers.
