NATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION DAY-DEBATE

 

National Energy Conservation Day Programme

The Energy Club of MCCTE, Mahe observed National Energy Conservation Day on 14 December 2024 at 10:45 a.m. in the college campus.

The programme aimed to raise awareness among students about the importance of conserving energy, adopting sustainable practices, and reducing environmental impact. The event highlighted the need for responsible consumption of energy resources and encouraged students to contribute towards building an energy-efficient society.

The session began with an introductory talk on the significance of National Energy Conservation Day, focusing on themes such as renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, climate change, and simple conservation practices that can be implemented in daily life. Students were also made aware of national initiatives promoting energy conservation and sustainable development.

Interactive discussions helped participants understand the global energy crisis and the urgent need for reducing dependence on non-renewable sources. The resource person emphasized behavioural changes, such as switching off lights when not in use, minimizing wastage, and opting for energy-efficient appliances.

Students participated enthusiastically and shared their ideas on conserving energy at home, in the community, and within the institution. The programme effectively deepened their understanding of the role individuals play in promoting a sustainable future.

The event concluded successfully, with the Energy Club reaffirming its commitment to organising more awareness-oriented and eco-friendly programmes that promote environmental responsibility.
