Report on international mother language day
International Mother Language Day is a worldwide annual observance held on 21 February to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and to promote multilingualism. The idea to celebrate International Mother Language Day was the initiative of Bangladesh. It was approved at the 1999 UNESCO General Conference and has been observed throughout the world since 2000.
Mahe co-operative college of teacher education, conducted this programme on 28th February 2024. The programme was led by the English department students. A talk was conducted by Sneha.N.
A competition for a surprise quiz was also held. Shabnam from English department was the one who gave the instructions. There was a one-minute time limit on each question. The students in the biology department emerged victorious in the quiz competition.
