The Physics Club of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, conducted an Essay Writing Competition on 28 February 2024 at 12:30 PM. The programme was organised to encourage students to explore physics-related themes creatively and to enhance their scientific writing and analytical skills.
The event began with a welcome address by the club coordinator, who highlighted the importance of writing as a tool for expressing scientific ideas clearly and effectively. Students were provided with a selection of physics-based topics, including renewable energy, recent advancements in physics, applications of physics in everyday life, and contributions of renowned physicists.
Participants engaged enthusiastically in the competition, demonstrating their understanding of scientific concepts, ability to connect theories with real-world applications, and capability to articulate ideas in a well-structured manner. The activity helped students refine their critical thinking, creativity, and writing proficiency.
Faculty members evaluated the essays based on clarity of content, originality, relevance to the topic, scientific accuracy, and coherence. The event fostered a positive learning environment and encouraged students to delve deeper into the world of physics.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the principal, faculty members, coordinators, and students for their active participation. The essay writing competition was successful in promoting scientific literacy and inspiring thoughtful engagement with physics among student teachers.
