 WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY – GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING SESSION

The Health Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe organized a Guidance and Counselling Session in connection with World Mental Health Day on 5th February 2024 at 9:30 AM. The programme aimed to promote mental well-being, create awareness about emotional health, and provide students with practical strategies to cope with stress and academic pressures.

The session began with a formal welcome and a brief introduction to the significance of World Mental Health Day. The resource person highlighted the growing need to prioritize mental wellness, especially among students who often manage academic responsibilities, personal expectations, and social challenges.

The counselling expert engaged the participants through an interactive session that focused on:

  • Understanding mental health and common stressors

  • Techniques for managing anxiety and emotional imbalance

  • The importance of self-care and healthy coping strategies

  • Building resilience and seeking help when needed

Students actively participated, sharing their thoughts and asking questions. The session provided them with meaningful insights into maintaining a balanced and positive mindset.

The programme concluded with a message encouraging students to be mindful of their mental well-being and to seek support whenever necessary. Participants expressed their appreciation for the informative and supportive session.

The World Mental Health Day – Guidance and Counselling Session was effective and timely, reaffirming the Health Club’s commitment to nurturing a caring, supportive, and mentally healthy campus environment.
