The Electoral Literacy Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Research Project Presentation Programme on 29th February 2024 at 10:30 AM. The initiative aimed to enhance students’ understanding of electoral processes, democratic values, and voter awareness through research-based learning.

The session began with a welcome address, followed by an introduction to the purpose of the programme. Students were encouraged to adopt a critical and analytical approach while studying topics related to elections, citizenship, and democratic participation.

As part of the event, students presented research projects on themes such as:

  • Importance of voter education among youth

  • Role of the Election Commission in ensuring free and fair elections

  • Impact of social media on voter behaviour

  • Electoral reforms in India

  • Challenges in increasing voter turnout

  • Rights and responsibilities of citizens in a democracy

Participants presented their objectives, methodology, findings, and conclusions with clarity and confidence. The presentations reflected their understanding of electoral literacy and showcased their ability to analyze democratic practices through a research lens.

The faculty panel offered constructive feedback on research design, data interpretation, and presentation skills. Students were motivated to further engage in electoral awareness activities and broaden their knowledge of democratic processes.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, appreciating the efforts of participants and acknowledging the support of faculty members.

The Research Project Presentation was a valuable initiative that strengthened students’ understanding of electoral literacy and reinforced the club’s commitment to promoting informed, responsible, and active citizenship.
