The World Day Against Child Labour is observed every year on 12 June to raise awareness of child exploitation and mobilize efforts to abolish it worldwide. First declared in 2002, the day emphasizes the need to create an environment where children can grow, learn, and live in dignity, not work. It supports the goal of ending child labour in all its forms by 2025 under Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8.7. World Day Against Child Labor aims to focus attention on the global extent of child labour and the action and efforts needed to eliminate it. Each year on 12 June, the Day brings together governments, employers and worker organizations, and civil society, as well as millions of people from around the world to highlight the plight of child labourers and what can be done to help them. This International Day was launched by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in 2002. About 152 million children globally are in child labour, almost one in ten. This figure reinforces the urgency of the campaign. Each year, the day brings together governments, civil society, and citizens in the shared belief that every child deserves a safe and secure future.

World Day Against child labour Day was conducted by the physical science students. They delivered a speech in the morning assembly reflecting the history and importance of this day. They created posters on child labour prevention.

The Radio Day Celebration event was held on February 13, 2024, at the Mahe Cooperative College of Teacher Education. The event aimed to celebrate the magic of radio, inviting participants to tune in and join the fun. The poster for the event features a blue background with green swirls and yellow dots, creating a visually appealing design. INDIAN NAVY DAY

Navy day is celebrated on December 4th every year in India to commemorate the Indian Navy's role in the country's defence and security. Navy Day honours the Indian Navy's achievements and contributions to the country. It showcases the Navy's capabilities and strength.

The Navy Day program was conducted by Mathematics Department on 4th December 2024 at morning assembly. Anjana O K delivered a speech on the importance of celebrating Navy Day. Anjana also included the history, significance, celebrations, theme and the interesting facts of Navy Day

WORLD OCEAN DAY CELEBRATION

 WORLD OCEAN DAY CELEBRATION

World Ocean Day is celebrated every year on June 8 to raise awareness about the vital role oceans play in sustaining life on Earth. It aims to educate people about the importance of protecting our oceans from threats like pollution, overfishing, and climate change. The day also highlights the need for sustainable management of marine resources and encourages global citizens to work together in preserving the ocean's health for future generations.

As part of the World Ocean Day observance, the Social Science Department of our institution organized a video presentation on June 9, 2025. Because june 8 was Sunday. So The event was conducted with the objective of spreading awareness among students about the significance of oceans and the urgent need to protect them.

The video presentation was led by Abhiram Murali K, who guided the session with great enthusiasm and insight. The presentation included visuals and facts related to ocean biodiversity, the impact of human activities on marine ecosystems, and global efforts to protect ocean life. It also featured inspiring stories of individuals and organizations making a difference in marine conservation.

The session was informative and thought-provoking, encouraging students to reflect on their role in protecting the environment. It concluded with an interactive discussion where students shared their ideas and thoughts about sustainable practices that can help preserve our oceans.

The Social Science Department deserves appreciation for conducting such an educational and meaningful program on the occasion of World Ocean Day. The event successfully created awareness among students and reinforced the importance of taking collective action for the health of our planet

The annual event of World Earth Day falls on April 22. World Earth Day, also known as International Mother Earth Day, is a globally recognised event dedicated to raising awareness and promoting the sustainability of our planet. The theme for World Earth Day 2024 is Planet vs Plastics. The theme aims to bring attention to the serious issue of plastic pollution and how it harms nature. At the assembly, Arshakh Shahin, first year B.Ed Physical science student delivered a speech about day. He spoke about the importance of the day. After that, we organised a caption writing competition. Students were asked to write a good and attractive caption for the picture provided by the organising team. In the competition, Krishnendu Krishnadas from first year B.Ed English department won the first prize. Anaswara and Nidhiya U from first year B.Ed English department secured second and third position respectively.

Introduction:

Every year, World Environment Day reminds us of the responsibility we all share to protect and preserve the world we live in. This year, our college took the opportunity to bring students and teachers together for a day dedicated to nature. With green thoughts in our hearts and mud on our hands, we celebrated this day in the most meaningful way possible.

What We Did:

To mark this important day, our campus hosted a Tree Plantation and Quiz Programme. The theme, "A Greener Campus Begins with You", beautifully captured the spirit of the event reminding each of us that big changes start with small, personal actions.

 Tree Plantation Drive:

The heart of the day was the tree planting activity. Students, teachers, and staff members came together to plant saplings around the campus. It wasn't just about digging soil and placing plants -it was about nurturing hope for a better tomorrow. The sight of tiny plants taking root symbolized our commitment to a greener and cleaner future.

 Environment Quiz:

Adding a fun and educational twist, an environment-themed quiz was conducted. It tested our knowledge about nature, conservation efforts, and the environmental challenges our world faces today. The quiz was lively, with students eagerly participating and cheering for one another - a perfect blend of learning and laughter.

Highlights of the Day:

Over 50 saplings planted around the campus.

Active participation from both students and teachers.

Informative quiz sessions filled with energy and awareness.

A shared sense of pride and unity in doing something good for the planet

World Autism Awareness Day program on 02/04/2024 for the academic year 2023-2025. 

Maya K delivered a speech about the need for Autism Awareness Day. She talked about Autism Spectrum Disorders and the theme of Autism awareness Day on 2024. An oath was taken by Ashil A. K, to convey the importance of considering autism people in the society. We got wonderful feedbacks from students and teachers as the program was very informative.

 The Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education observed the Global Day of Parents on June 4, 2025, in honour of the internationally recognized date, June 1. This day is marked globally to appreciate and acknowledge the role of parents in nurturing and shaping future generations.

To commemorate the occasion, a special program was organized at the college, where Ms. Anjana Das from the Department of Mathematics delivered an insightful and heartfelt speech. In her address, she emphasized the selfless love, sacrifices, and unwavering support that parents provide throughout a child's life. She highlighted how parental guidance forms the backbone of character development and educational growth.

The Arts Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized an Art History Tour on 28 May 2025 at 11:00 AM with the objective of providing student teachers an opportunity to explore and understand the evolution of art, its cultural significance, and its influence on contemporary practices. The tour was designed to enrich students’ knowledge through direct observation and experiential learning.

Participants visited significant art spaces, galleries, and historical sites where they observed various styles, techniques, and artistic expressions. The coordinators offered detailed explanations on the origins of different art forms, notable artists, and the socio-cultural backgrounds that shaped various artistic movements.

Throughout the tour, students showed great enthusiasm, actively interacting with exhibits and engaging in meaningful discussions. The Event Management Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized an exciting and engaging Indoor Gaming Event on 19 May 2025 at 2:00 PM in the college campus. The programme aimed to promote recreation, teamwork, strategic thinking, and stress relief among student-teachers.

The event began with a welcome address by the club coordinators, who highlighted the importance of indoor games in enhancing cognitive skills, concentration, and healthy competition. BLOOD DONATION CAMP

The Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education is organizing a blood donation camp in association with the Malabar Cancer Centre Blood Bank, Thalassery.
