World Ocean Day is celebrated every year on June 8 to raise awareness about the vital role oceans play in sustaining life on Earth. It aims to educate people about the importance of protecting our oceans from threats like pollution, overfishing, and climate change. The day also highlights the need for sustainable management of marine resources and encourages global citizens to work together in preserving the ocean's health for future generations.

As part of the World Ocean Day observance, the Social Science Department of our institution organized a video presentation on June 9, 2025. Because june 8 was Sunday. So The event was conducted with the objective of spreading awareness among students about the significance of oceans and the urgent need to protect them.

The video presentation was led by Abhiram Murali K, who guided the session with great enthusiasm and insight. The presentation included visuals and facts related to ocean biodiversity, the impact of human activities on marine ecosystems, and global efforts to protect ocean life. It also featured inspiring stories of individuals and organizations making a difference in marine conservation.

The session was informative and thought-provoking, encouraging students to reflect on their role in protecting the environment. It concluded with an interactive discussion where students shared their ideas and thoughts about sustainable practices that can help preserve our oceans.

The Social Science Department deserves appreciation for conducting such an educational and meaningful program on the occasion of World Ocean Day. The event successfully created awareness among students and reinforced the importance of taking collective action for the health of our planet
