This year’s celebration marked 150 years of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), emphasizing the theme:
“150 Years of Enabling Communication and Empowering Peoples Across Nations.”
The event was highlighted by an inspiring speech delivered by Anamika C.K., shedding light on the historical significance and ongoing relevance of the postal service in an increasingly digital world. Her speech emphasized the role of postal services in uniting people, bridging distances, and supporting socio-economic development across the globe.

Indian Air Force Day

Indian Air Force Day is indeed celebrated on October 8th every year to mark the anniversary of the Indian Air Force's establishment in 1932.

The Indian Air Force has a rich history, and it's amazing to learn about its significant role in India's military operations, including the Indo-Pakistani Wars and humanitarian assistance. The force's motto, "Touch the Sky with Glory," is truly inspiring, reflecting its commitment to excellence and service to the nation. The Indian Air Force is one of the most advanced and powerful air forces in the world, with a fleet of modern aircraft, including fighter jets, transport planes, and helicopters. On Indian Air Force Day, parades, air shows, and other events are held across the country to honor the bravery and sacrifice of Indian Air Force personnel. The Indian Air Force has a strength of over 1.5 lakh personnel and operates from 60 airbases across the country. It's also involved in various humanitarian and disaster relief operations, such as providing aid during natural disasters and evacuating citizens from conflict zones.

The program was conducted by social science department, led by Abhiram Murali. K. He conducted a speech about Indian Air Force and it's history. He delivered an insightful and informative address about the Indian Air Force, tracing its glorious history, and highlighting its significant milestones, achievements, and contributions to the nation's defence.

On 7th October, Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education observed World Cotton Day as a part of the Social Science Department’s awareness initiatives. The event aimed to highlight the global importance of cotton and its role in the economy, livelihoods, and sustainability.

A speech was delivered by Chandana S S, shedding light on the significance of cotton as a key agricultural commodity that supports millions of farmers worldwide. The event began with a welcome address followed by a briefing on the rules, scoring criteria, and safety instructions. Participants displayed great enthusiasm and readiness to showcase their skills on the field.

The contest involved each participant taking a series of penalty kicks, which were evaluated based on:

  • Accuracy of the kick

  • Power and technique

  • Number of successful goals scored

Wild animal welfare day


 WILD ANIMAL WELFARE DAY 

In observance of Wild Animal Welfare Day on 4th October, the Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education organized a Quiz Competition aimed at spreading awareness about the importance of protecting and conserving wild animals. The event was conducted by Gopika G, who designed the quiz to educate participants about the diverse challenges faced by wild animals and the need for their welfare and protection.

The Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, celebrated Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti with great enthusiasm and patriotism to honor the birth anniversary of India’s second Prime Minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri, who was born on October 2nd, 1904.

The event commenced with a prayer and a brief overview of Shastriji’s life, leadership, and significant achievements.

A quiz competition was organized to assess students' knowledge of Shastriji’s role in India's freedom struggle and national development.Social Science Department held the quiz Competition.

A speech competition was held, where students delivered inspiring speeches focusing on Shastriji’s vision, values, and leadership.Anjana ok from Maths Department got first prize on Speech Competition.

Gandhi Jayanti Day

Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, observed Gandhi Jayanthi on October 2, 2024, with a focus on environmental awareness and community service. The event featured two primary activities: cleaning the college campus and cleaning the Mahe Walkway, particularly the Hillock (Moopan Kunn).

The first-year B.Ed. students took the initiative to clean the Hillock at Mahe Walkway. Armed with cleaning tools, the students enthusiastically worked together to ensure the area was free of litter and debris, embodying the spirit of Gandhiji’s teachings on cleanliness and service to the community.

Meanwhile, second-year B.Ed. students stayed at the college campus, where they took up the responsibility of cleaning the campus grounds. They also prepared traditional food items—kappa, kanji, and coffee—for all participants.


The principal of the college delivered a brief speech, highlighting the importance of Gandhiji’s ideals in today’s context. Following her address, she planted a new sapling on the campus, symbolizing growth, sustainability, and the college’s commitment to environmental care. Teachers and students gathered to support the tree-planting activity.

Upon completing their cleaning duties, the first-year students returned to the campus, where they were served refreshments and the traditional food prepared by the second-year students.
