GLOBAL DAY OF PARENTS

 The Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education observed the Global Day of Parents on June 4, 2025, in honour of the internationally recognized date, June 1. This day is marked globally to appreciate and acknowledge the role of parents in nurturing and shaping future generations.

To commemorate the occasion, a special program was organized at the college, where Ms. Anjana Das from the Department of Mathematics delivered an insightful and heartfelt speech. In her address, she emphasized the selfless love, sacrifices, and unwavering support that parents provide throughout a child's life. She highlighted how parental guidance forms the backbone of character development and educational growth.

Ms. Anjana also drew attention to the need for today's youth to express gratitude towards their parents and urged everyone to strengthen family bonds through understanding, respect, and open communication. Her words resonated deeply with the audience, leaving a strong emotional impact.

The Arts Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized an Art History Tour on 28 May 2025 at 11:00 AM with the objective of providing student teachers an opportunity to explore and understand the evolution of art, its cultural significance, and its influence on contemporary practices. The tour was designed to enrich students’ knowledge through direct observation and experiential learning.

Participants visited significant art spaces, galleries, and historical sites where they observed various styles, techniques, and artistic expressions. The coordinators offered detailed explanations on the origins of different art forms, notable artists, and the socio-cultural backgrounds that shaped various artistic movements.

The Eco Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe celebrated the International Day for Biodiversity on 20th May 2025 at 3:00 PM with the aim of increasing awareness about the importance of biodiversity and encouraging students to play an active role in its conservation.

The programme began with a welcome address, followed by an introduction explaining the theme and significance of the International Day for Biodiversity. Students were reminded of the essential role biodiversity plays in maintaining ecological balance, supporting human life, and sustaining ecosystems.

1. Awareness Session

A resource person delivered an impactful presentation covering:

  • Definition and importance of biodiversity

  • Threats to biodiversity such as habitat loss, pollution, overexploitation, and climate change

  • Importance of conserving local flora and fauna

  • Strategies for protecting biodiversity at community and global levels

The session helped students understand the urgent need to protect and restore biodiversity.

The Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education successfully organized a Cricket Championship on 19th May 2025 at the Mahe Indoor Stadium. The event was held in solidarity with the Anti-Drug Campaign, promoting the powerful message: "Let cricket be your addiction, not drugs."


Event Highlights:The championship included three major fixtures:

    • Men's Championship

    • Women's Championship

    • College Team vs Alumni Match

  • The event began at 2:30 PM with an enthusiastic crowd and vibrant opening.

  • The theme “Say No to Drugs” was well-integrated into the event with banners, announcements, and speeches reinforcing the message of leading a healthy, drug-free life.

  • Both current students and alumni participated actively, fostering a spirit of unity and healthy competition.


Objective:

The primary objective of the event was to raise awareness among students and the community about the dangers of drug abuse and to encourage youth to engage in positive and constructive activities like sports.

The Event Management Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized an exciting and engaging Indoor Gaming Event on 19 May 2025 at 2:00 PM in the college campus. The programme aimed to promote recreation, teamwork, strategic thinking, and stress relief among student-teachers.

The event began with a welcome address by the club coordinators, who highlighted the importance of indoor games in enhancing cognitive skills, concentration, and healthy competition. BLOOD DONATION CAMP


The Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education is organizing a blood donation camp in association with the Malabar Cancer Centre Blood Bank, Thalassery. The programme began with a brief explanation of the rules of the Travel Bingo Game. Students were provided with bingo cards containing names of countries, cities, famous landmarks, tourist attractions, and travel-related terms. As clues were called out based on geography, culture, and tourism facts, students identified and marked the correct answers on their bingo cards.

FAVOURITE FILM STORY TELLING SESSION CONDUCTED BY FILM CLUB OF MCCTE MAHE

The Film Club of MCCTE, Mahe conducted an interesting and interactive Favourite Film Story Telling Session on 6 May 2025 at 3:00 PM in the college campus. The programme aimed to enhance students’ communication skills, creativity, and appreciation of cinema through reflective storytelling.

The session began with a welcome address by the club coordinators, who explained the purpose of the activity and emphasized the value of narrating film stories as a means of exploring themes, character journeys, and cinematic techniques. Participants were encouraged to choose their favourite films and narrate the story in an engaging and original manner.

Students enthusiastically presented stories from a variety of films, sharing their personal interpretations, favourite scenes, and reasons for choosing the particular film. The storytelling showcased creativity, expressive narration, and an understanding of plot structure. The atmosphere was lively, encouraging participants to connect over shared cinematic experiences.

World Asthma Day

World Asthma Day 


World Asthma Day is an annual event organized by Global initiative for asthma (GINA) to improve asthma awareness and care around the world. World Asthma Day is held on the first Tuesday in May. The theme of Asthma day in 2025 is Make inhaled treatments accessible for all. This theme focuses on lowering preventable morbidity and mortality by highlighting universal access to necessary asthma medications, such as inhaled corticosteroids. This initiative encourages healthcare systems to give equal access to evidence based inhaled treatments top priority.

The students of biological science organized World Asthma Day programme on 6th may, during morning assembly. Hridhika Raj gave a talk about the disease and she conveyed how to prevent Asthma. It was very informative and we received good feedback from students and teachers.

The Environmental Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Photography Contest on 6th May 2024 at 10:20 AM with the aim of promoting environmental awareness, creativity, and appreciation for nature through the art of photography.

The event began with an introduction to the contest theme, which focused on capturing elements of nature, environmental conservation, and the beauty of the natural surroundings. Students were encouraged to observe their environment closely and portray meaningful environmental messages through their photographs.

Participants enthusiastically submitted photographs based on themes such as:

  • Nature and biodiversity

  • Clean and green surroundings

  • Environmental protection

  • Human–nature coexistence

  • Sustainable living

Each photograph reflected creativity, aesthetic sense, and a deep appreciation for the environment. Students showcased impressive camera skills, unique perspectives, and artistic composition.

The Discipline Club of MCCTE Mahe organised an Awareness Campaign on 05 May 2025 at 11:30 AM in the college campus. The campaign aimed to educate students on the importance of maintaining discipline, responsible behaviour, and adherence to college norms.

The programme began with an introduction by the club coordinator, who highlighted the objectives of the campaign. Members of the Discipline Club actively engaged with students across different parts of the campus, distributing informative pamphlets and sharing key messages on punctuality, classroom etiquette, digital discipline, and respectful conduct.

Awareness posters prepared by the students were displayed at various locations within the campus, capturing the attention of the entire college community. The Physical Education Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Women’s Tug of War Competition on 2nd May 2025 at 10:30 AM as part of its sports and fitness initiatives aimed at promoting teamwork, strength, and active participation among women students.

The programme began with a welcome address, followed by a briefing on the rules, safety measures, and the importance of maintaining sportsmanship throughout the competition. Students were enthusiastic and eager to participate, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere.

Multiple teams competed with great determination and spirit. Each match showcased:

  • Excellent coordination and teamwork
