The Ektha College Union of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe successfully organised a festive programme titled “Santa’s Fiesta 2k25” on Saturday, 20 December 2025, at 9:30 a.m. on the college campus.

The programme was organised with the objective of spreading the spirit of Christmas, fostering joy, togetherness, and cultural harmony among students and staff. The campus was attractively decorated with Christmas-themed décor, creating a lively and cheerful atmosphere.

The celebration featured various entertaining and engaging activities, including fun games, music, and performances that reflected the joy and warmth of the Christmas season. A special appearance by Santa Claus added excitement and enthusiasm, especially among the students, making the event memorable.

Students actively participated in the programme, showcasing their talents and enjoying the festivities. The event promoted unity, relaxation, and positive interaction beyond the regular academic environment.

Demi-Gender Awareness Day Observation

The IQAC of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, in collaboration with the Transgender Club, observed Demi-Gender Awareness Day by organizing an awareness session and talk on the significance of the day on 15 December 2025 at 9.00 PM through the Google Meet platform.

The programme was conducted under the general coordination of Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal, MCCTE. The IQAC coordination was efficiently managed by Mr. Arun U, Assistant Professor, MCCTE. The programme coordination was undertaken by Ms. Vismaya K K, Assistant Professor, MCCTE. The student coordinators for the programme were Ms. Shradha Sudheer T K and Ms. Gopika K.

The awareness session focused on the concept of demi-gender identity, its meaning, and its place within the broader spectrum of gender diversity. The talk emphasized the importance of understanding, inclusion, respect, and acceptance of diverse gender identities in society, especially within educational institutions.

The IQAC of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, in collaboration with the Energy Club, observed National Energy Conservation Day on 14 December 2025 by organizing a video presentation on energy conservation at 9.00 PM.

The programme was conducted under the general coordination of Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal, MCCTE. The IQAC coordination was efficiently handled by Mr. Arun U, Assistant Professor, MCCTE. The programme coordination was undertaken by Ms. Chaithanya P, Assistant Professor, MCCTE. The student coordinators for the programme were Ms. Aiswarya V and Ms. Anusree T. H.

The video presentation focused on the importance of energy conservation, the need for judicious use of energy resources, and the promotion of renewable and sustainable energy practices. The IQAC of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, in collaboration with the Psychology & Guidance Club, observed International Neutrality Day on 12 December 2025 by organizing a video presentation on the significance of the day at 9.00 PM.

The programme was conducted under the general coordination of Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal, MCCTE. The IQAC coordination was efficiently handled by Mr. Arun U, Assistant Professor, MCCTE, while the programme coordination was undertaken by Ms. Padmalekha, Assistant Professor, MCCTE. The student coordinators for the programme were Mr. Dhanush Krishna and Mr. Muhammad Fadil K M.

The video presentation highlighted the concept of neutrality, its importance in maintaining peace, international cooperation, conflict prevention, and global harmony, and the relevance of neutrality in contemporary world affairs. UNICEF Day Observation – Video Presentation

The IQAC of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, in collaboration with the Eco Club, observed UNICEF Day by organizing a Video Presentation programme on 11 December 2025 at 9:00 PM through the Google Meet platform.

The programme was conducted under the general coordination of Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal, MCCTE. The IQAC coordination was undertaken by Mr. Arun U, Assistant Professor, MCCTE, and the programme coordination was efficiently handled by Ms. Namitha T, Assistant Professor, MCCTE.

The highlight of the programme was a video presentation delivered by Ms. Sreenanda B, First Year Biological Science student. The presentation focused on the role of UNICEF in promoting child rights, child welfare, education, health, and environmental awareness across the globe. The video effectively highlighted UNICEF’s initiatives aimed at ensuring a safe, healthy, and sustainable future for children.

K-TET Qualification Achievement

The MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of its students who have successfully qualified the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET) in Category II and Category III, as well as both Category II & III, during the academic years 2022–24, 2023–25, 2024–26, and 2025–27.

A significant number of student-teachers from various disciplines such as English, Mathematics, Physical Science, Biological Science, and Social Science have cleared the examination with commendable performance. This achievement reflects the academic excellence, dedicated preparation, and consistent guidance provided by the institution.

The K-TET qualification is an important milestone for aspiring teachers, as it validates their professional competence and readiness to enter the teaching profession. The success of these students stands as a testimony to the effective teaching–learning practices, mentoring support, and academic rigor upheld by the college.

The event featured a dynamic performance by the Special Guest DJ – AZ MUSIC, whose energetic mixes and engaging stage presence created an exciting atmosphere throughout the programme. Students enthusiastically gathered in large numbers, and the auditorium quickly transformed into a lively space filled with lights, rhythm, and movement.

The DJ set included a variety of popular tracks that catered to diverse musical preferences, enabling everyone to participate freely. The event was graced by Sri. Ramesh Parambath, MLA, Mahe, who attended as the Special Guest. The flash mob began with a surprise entry, creating excitement and curiosity among the audience. The performers showcased a vibrant and well-coordinated dance sequence, blending contemporary moves with rhythmic transitions. Their energetic performance successfully captured the attention of everyone present, spreading a lively and celebratory atmosphere across the campus.

The programme aimed to mark the beginning of the new Union activities in a dynamic and engaging manner. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, organised an insightful talk session titled “From Plans to Power: A Women Representation and Policy Perspective” on 22 November 2025 at 10:00 AM in the College Auditorium.

The session was led by Adv. Karayi Pradeep Kumar (LLB), Advocate, Thalassery, who served as the Resource Person for the programme. His presentation focused on the evolution of women’s representation in Indian policy frameworks and the significance of ensuring equitable participation of women in governance and decision-making processes.

Adv. Pradeep Kumar highlighted the historical challenges faced by women, the constitutional provisions supporting gender equality, and the policy measures introduced over the years to strengthen women’s participation in public life. He also discussed real-world examples, legislative reforms, and the need for continuous advocacy to ensure that women progress from planning roles to positions of actual power and influence.

The session encouraged active student participation, with attendees engaging in meaningful discussions and raising thoughtful questions on legal rights, political representation, and the current policy environment. The resource person addressed each query with clarity, enriching the students’ understanding of women-centric policies and social justice.

Children’s Day Celebration – 18 November 2025**

As part of the Children’s Day Celebration organized by the MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, in association with the LIKHA College Union and IQAC, a heartfelt and inspiring Patriotic Song Competition was conducted on 18 November 2025 for the 6th and 7th standard students of the Mahe region.

The competition aimed to instill a sense of national pride, unity, and respect for the country among young students. Participants enthusiastically performed patriotic songs that highlighted themes of freedom, courage, sacrifice, and love for the nation. Their melodious voices and meaningful renditions created an emotionally uplifting atmosphere.

The event witnessed active participation from various schools. Students performed individually, presenting songs with confidence, clarity, and expressive vocal skills. The competition helped develop musical talents while nurturing values of patriotism and cultural appreciation.

Judging criteria included melody, clarity, voice modulation, rhythm, expression, and overall presentation. Each performance reflected the sincerity and dedication of the participants.

The winners of the Patriotic Song Competition were announced during the Valedictory Function and Prize Distribution held from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM, where they were awarded trophies and certificates.

The event concluded successfully, inspiring students to value their cultural heritage and strengthening the spirit of unity and pride as part of the Children’s Day celebration.

Children’s Day Celebration – 18 November 2025**

The Prize Distribution Ceremony of the Children’s Day Celebration, organized by the MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, in association with the LIKHA College Union and IQAC, was held on 18 November 2025 from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM in the college campus. The ceremony marked the grand conclusion of a day filled with arts and sports competitions for the 6th and 7th standard students of the Mahe region.

The event began with a warm welcome extended to teachers, guests, coordinators, volunteers, and all participating students. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation as participants eagerly awaited the announcement of results.

Prizes were awarded for various events including Water Colouring, Patriotic Song, Letter Writing, Quiz Competition, Solo Dance, and sports events such as Musical Chair, Skipping, Spoon Racing, Shuttle Run Relay, and Tug of War. Each winner was called on stage and honoured with trophies, certificates, and cash awards.
