Women Cell Inauguration

The IQAC in association with ASTHRA Women Cell of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe organized the Women Cell Inauguration on 10 March 2026 at 10:00 AM in the College Auditorium. The programme was conducted with the objective of promoting women’s empowerment, gender equality, and awareness among students.

The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Rtn. Vijayaraja Mallika, a renowned writer and poet. During the programme, the Women Cell named “ASTHRA” was officially inaugurated, marking an important step in strengthening initiatives related to women’s development and empowerment within the institution.

The chief guest delivered an inspiring address emphasizing the importance of women’s education, self-confidence, and leadership in society. She also highlighted the role of educational institutions in nurturing empowered and socially responsible women.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sreelatha K., Principal, MCCTE, who served as the Coordinator. Mr. Arun U., Assistant Professor, acted as the IQAC Coordinator, while Mr. Vipin K., Assistant Professor, served as the Union Coordinator. Mrs. Niji O., Assistant Professor, coordinated the programme as the Women Cell Coordinator.

The event was attended by faculty members and students, making it a meaningful and memorable occasion. The inauguration of the ASTHRA Women Cell marked the beginning of various activities aimed at empowering women and creating awareness about gender equality and social responsibility among students.
