“PLAN A DREAM TRIP” ACTIVITY

The Tour Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted an engaging and creative activity titled “Plan a Dream Trip” on 29th July 2024 at 10:30 AM with the objective of enhancing students’ planning skills, creativity, teamwork, and geographical awareness. The programme was designed to encourage students to explore their travel interests while practically applying budgeting, scheduling, and destination planning skills.

The programme began with a brief introduction explaining the purpose of the activity and the importance of travel planning as a life skill. Students were divided into small groups and instructed to design a complete plan for their dream trip, including destination selection, travel routes, accommodation, budget estimation, food planning, tourist attractions, and safety measures.

Each group worked collaboratively to prepare their trip plan using charts and creative presentations. Students selected a wide variety of destinations including hill stations, heritage cities, beaches, and international tourist spots. The presentations reflected thorough planning, creativity, and good coordination among team members.

Students confidently presented their travel plans before the audience, explaining their itinerary, transport arrangements, budget management, and sightseeing schedules. The activity helped students improve their communication skills, decision-making ability, research skills, and teamwork. Faculty members appreciated the students for their originality and practical approach to planning.

The programme created an enthusiastic and joyful learning atmosphere, encouraging students to dream, explore, and think systematically. Students shared that the activity helped them understand the importance of organized planning and responsible travel.

The Drama Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Screening of a Shakespearean Drama on 26th July 2024 at 2:00 PM as part of its initiative to familiarize students with classic literature and enhance their understanding of theatrical expression.

The programme began with a brief introduction to William Shakespeare’s contributions to world literature and drama. Students were encouraged to appreciate the richness of Shakespeare’s themes, characters, and language, which continue to influence modern storytelling.

A selected Shakespearean play was screened, offering students an engaging visual interpretation of the text. The screening helped participants grasp elements such as:

  • Character development and emotional depth

  • Dramatic structure and stagecraft

  • Use of poetic language and dialogues

  • Universal themes such as love, power, conflict, and morality

Students attentively watched the performance, gaining insights into how classical drama is adapted for modern audiences through cinematography, costumes, and acting styles.

The Drama Club of MCCTE Mahe conducted a Short Film Review Session on 26 July 2024 at 2:00 PM in the college campus. The programme aimed to enhance students’ critical thinking, cinematic appreciation, and understanding of visual storytelling techniques.

The session began with a brief introduction by the club coordinators, who explained the purpose of reviewing short films and the importance of analysing elements such as theme, plot, character development, cinematography, sound, and message. A selected short film was screened for the participants.

Following the screening, students actively took part in the review process by sharing their interpretations, observations, and critiques. They discussed the narrative structure, acting performance, camera work, editing style, and emotional impact of the film. The interactive discussion enabled students to express their viewpoints confidently while learning to appreciate various aspects of filmmaking.

The session created an engaging and reflective environment, encouraging participants to approach films from an analytical perspective rather than passive viewing.

The inauguration of the Science Club of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, was held on 24th July 2024 in the college premises. The program was organized with the objective of fostering scientific interest and promoting innovation among student teachers.

The inaugural session was graced by the presence of the General Coordinator, Dr. Sreelatha K, the IQAC Coordinator, Mr. Arun U, and the Teacher Coordinator, Ms. Reeshma T.M. The event began with a welcome address, followed by the formal inauguration of the club.

In her address, Dr. Sreelatha K highlighted the importance of developing a scientific outlook in teaching and encouraged students to utilize the platform for their academic growth. The Biological Science Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Debate Competition on the topic “Nature vs Nurture” on 22nd July 2024 at 2:00 PM. The programme aimed to develop scientific thinking, enhance communication skills, and encourage students to analyze the influence of hereditary and environmental factors on human development.

The event began with an introduction to the theme, explaining the long-standing scientific discussion on whether genetics (nature) or environmental factors (nurture) play a more significant role in shaping behavior, personality, and abilities. Students were divided into two teams, each representing one side of the argument.

Participants presented well-researched points, supported by scientific theories, real-life examples, and biological principles. The team arguing for nature emphasized the role of genetics, hereditary traits, DNA, biological predispositions, and evolutionary influences. Meanwhile, the nurture team highlighted environmental impacts, learning experiences, cultural background, upbringing, and social interactions as key contributors to human development.

The debate was lively and engaging, with participants confidently presenting their arguments and responding to rebuttals. The exchange of ideas demonstrated students’ analytical skills, clarity of thought, and depth of understanding of the topic. The audience showed great interest and gained valuable insights into the complex interaction between biology and environment.

The Energy Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized a Paper Pen Distribution Programme in observance of World Energy Conservation Day on 22 July 2024 at 11:30 a.m. in the college campus.

The programme aimed to promote environmental responsibility, reduce plastic usage, and encourage sustainable alternatives among students. As part of the initiative, eco-friendly paper pens were distributed to all participants to raise awareness about the importance of choosing biodegradable and energy-efficient products in daily life.

The event began with a brief address on the significance of World Energy Conservation Day, highlighting the need to adopt energy-saving practices and sustainable lifestyle choices. Students actively participated and engaged in discussions about renewable energy, conservation strategies, and reducing carbon footprint.

The Physics Club of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, conducted a Questionnaire Task titled “Meet the Astroner” on 20 July 2024 at 1:15 PM. The programme was designed to enhance students’ curiosity about space science and to improve their ability to formulate meaningful scientific questions.

The event began with a welcome address by the club coordinator, who explained the purpose of the activity and emphasised the importance of inquiry-based learning in science education. Students were encouraged to think critically about astronomy, space missions, celestial bodies, and the work of astronomers.

As part of the task, participants prepared and presented a set of questions they would ask an astronomer if given the opportunity. These questions covered a wide range of areas, including space exploration, black holes, satellites, rockets, galaxies, astrophysics, and future developments in space research. The activity helped students reflect on the wonders of the universe while strengthening their scientific thinking.

Participants presented their questions before the group, discussing why each question was important and what they hoped to learn from it. Faculty members appreciated the creativity, curiosity, and depth of thought shown by the students.

The Grievance Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted an Anti-Ragging Campaign on 18th July 2024 at 11:40 AM with the objective of ensuring a safe, supportive, and inclusive campus environment. The initiative aimed to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of ragging, the legal consequences associated with it, and the importance of maintaining respectful and responsible behaviour within the institution.

The programme began with a brief introduction highlighting the need for strict anti-ragging measures and the responsibility of every student to uphold the dignity and rights of their peers. Faculty members addressed the gathering and explained the definition of ragging, its psychological and emotional impact, and the provisions of the Anti-Ragging Act. Students were made aware of institutional policies, reporting mechanisms, and the role of the Grievance Club in ensuring student welfare.

As part of the campaign, posters and slogans promoting anti-ragging awareness were displayed across the campus. Students participated in discussions and shared their thoughts on the importance of kindness, empathy, and building a positive campus culture. A short awareness film was also screened, illustrating real-life consequences of ragging and emphasizing the need for preventive action.

The Energy Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized a Power Down Programme in observance of Global Energy Independence Day on 10 July 2024 at 9:30 a.m. in the college campus.

The programme aimed to create awareness about the importance of reducing energy consumption and promoting sustainable energy practices. Students were encouraged to understand the impact of unnecessary energy usage and the role of collective action in conserving power for a greener future.

As part of the initiative, non-essential electrical equipment and lights were switched off for a specific duration to demonstrate the significance of mindful energy usage. Students and faculty members actively participated by adhering to the power-down guidelines within classrooms, offices, and common areas.

The programme aimed to promote awareness about sustainable transportation, renewable energy adoption, and the importance of reducing dependence on fossil fuels. The event highlighted how electric vehicles can contribute to cleaner environments, reduced carbon emissions, and long-term energy independence.


The session began with an introduction on the significance of Global Energy Independence Day, emphasizing the global shift toward clean and efficient energy solutions. The English Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted an English Karaoke programme on 7th July 2024 at 10:00 AM with the objective of improving students’ pronunciation, listening skills, confidence, and expressive ability in the English language through music. The programme aimed to make language learning enjoyable, interactive, and student-friendly.

The programme began with a brief introduction highlighting the importance of music as an effective tool for language learning. Students were encouraged to sing English songs using karaoke tracks, focusing on correct pronunciation, rhythm, fluency, and expression. A wide variety of songs ranging from classics to contemporary hits were selected by the participants.

Students participated with great enthusiasm and confidence, performing individually and in small groups. The performances reflected clarity of voice, improved articulation, and strong stage presence. The audience actively encouraged the performers, creating a lively and supportive learning atmosphere.

Faculty coordinators guided the participants by correcting pronunciation where necessary and motivating students to focus on proper diction and expression.
