MARTYR'S DAY


On January 30, 2024, Mahe Cooperative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, observed Martyr’s Day with great reverence and significance. The event was organized by the Social Science Association to honor the memory of Mahatma Gandhi and his unparalleled contributions to the nation.

The commemoration featured a special talk delivered by Angitha, which focused on the ideals and legacy of Gandhiji. The session was conducted on January 31, 2024, at 8:00 PM and was well-attended by students and faculty alike. The talk provided insightful reflections on Gandhi's philosophy of non-violence and truth, and how these principles remain relevant in today’s world.

In addition to the talk, a drawing competition was held on the theme “Gandhiji,” offering students an opportunity to express their admiration and understanding of the Father of the Nation through art. The event fostered creativity and deepened awareness among participants about the values Gandhiji stood for.

Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education celebrated Republic Day on January 26 with great patriotic spirit and enthusiasm. The highlight of the celebration was a talk by Sneha, which shed light on the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution and the significance of Republic Day in upholding democratic principles.

 DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF LALBAHADUR SHASTHRI & NATIONAL HUMAN TRAFFICKING AWARENESS DAY 

The Mahe Cooperative College of Teacher Education observed the death anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri in conjunction with National Human Trafficking Awareness Day on 11th January 2024. The event was organized by the Social Science Association and aimed to shed light on the serious issue of human trafficking while honoring the memory of India's former Prime Minister.


As part of the commemoration, the program featured an enlightening talk delivered by Hridya Raj and Swathi Ramesh, which began at 8 PM. Their discussions focused on the importance of raising awareness about human trafficking, its impact on society, and the steps that can be taken to prevent it.

Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education observed Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, also known as NRI Day, with great respect and enthusiasm. The event was held in recognition of the valuable contributions made by Non-Resident Indians to the development of the country and to celebrate their enduring connection with their roots. The program took place on the ninth of January in the evening.

The event featured a thoughtful and engaging talk by Amrutha Asok, who shed light on the importance of the Indian diaspora and their influence across the globe. Her address helped participants understand the significance of the day and inspired them to appreciate the global impact of Indians living abroad.

Afterward, Amrutha U R delivered an inspiring talk that focused on personal wellness strategies. Her address was motivational and resonated well with the participants, encouraging them to adopt a more mindful and healthy lifestyle.

To conclude the program on an engaging and light-hearted note, a Sudoku game was organized.Ashil A K from 1st year Biological science won first position in the game. Siham Rahim and Athira Pavithran from the first year English department bagged second and third position respectively. This activity not only provided mental stimulation but also added an element of fun and interaction to the evening.

Overall, the celebration of International Mind-Body Wellness Day was a successful and enriching experience. It effectively combined education with entertainment, creating awareness while fostering a sense of community among the participants. DISCIPLINE CLUB INAUGURATION

Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education is pleased to announce the inauguration of the Discipline Club. The club was officially launched on January 3, 2024, with the primary objective of fostering a culture of responsibility, respect, and adherence to college rules and regulations among students. This significant initiative, championed by college Principal Dr. Sreelatha K, underscores the institution's commitment to creating a conducive and orderly learning environment. The Discipline Club will be guided by its dedicated coordinators: Arun U as IQAC Coordinator and Revathy Madhusoodanan as Teacher Coordinator. Through various activities and awareness programs, the club aims to instill the importance of discipline in shaping well-rounded and responsible individuals, thereby contributing to the overall ethos of the college.


 

World Introvert Day 2024 Report


On January 2nd, 2024, the English department students of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education organized a program to commemorate World Introvert Day. The event was conducted online via Google Meet.

The program aimed to appreciate and understand the unique qualities of introverts, who are often characterized as quiet and reserved individuals who prefer spending time alone rather than socializing frequently. A talk was conducted by Smera to raise awareness about introversion and highlight that being a "quiet one" is not something to be ashamed of, but rather something awesome.

In addition, a poetry competition was held. Students in each depatment submitted a poem.Santhwana from the physical science departmentbwas the competion winner.


The event was part of the students' internship program, where first-year students were assigned to conduct monthly events using online programming. The program was successfully led by the English department students.

Overall, the World Introvert Day 2024 program at Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education was a meaningful initiative that promoted understanding and appreciation of introversion among students.
