National Pet Day


NATIONAL PET DAY

11 APRIL 2025


National Pet Day on April 11th dedicates the day to those pets who may not always get the companionship and attention pets deserve. While loving our pets is something we do every day, the observance encourages helping our orphaned pet companions. It will improve their health and enhance their opportunities for adoption.

The Mathematics Department conducted a talk in morning assembly on 11th April 2025 in accordance to National Pet Day. The talk was delivered by Anusha, 2nd year B.Ed Mathematics student. Anusha talked about the significance of celebrating this day, the history behind it, its aims, what types of celebrations are taken placed etc.

VISHU PROGRAMME

 

 VISHU PROGRAMME CONDUCTED BY EVENT MANAGEMENT CLUB OF MCCTE MAHE

The Event Management Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized a vibrant and culturally rich Vishu Programme on 10 April 2025 at 11:15 AM in the college campus. The celebration aimed to promote cultural awareness, foster community spirit, and provide students with an opportunity to experience the traditional significance of Vishu.

The programme began with a welcome address by the club coordinators, who highlighted the importance of Vishu as a festival symbolizing prosperity, positivity, and new beginnings. The event featured various traditional elements that reflected the cultural heritage associated with the festival.

A beautifully arranged Vishukkani display was prepared by the students, showcasing items like konna flowers, fruits, mirrors, and traditional lamps. Participants also took part in cultural activities that included songs, short performances, and sharing the meaning and customs related to Vishu. The atmosphere was festive, warm, and inclusive, bringing together students, faculty members, and staff.

The coordinators appreciated the efforts of the participants and encouraged them to continue engaging in cultural celebrations that strengthen unity and cultural knowledge. The programme concluded with the distribution of prasadam, adding to the joy of the occasion.

Overall, the Vishu Programme was a delightful and meaningful celebration that enriched the cultural environment of MCCTE, Mahe and fostered a sense of togetherness among the college community.




REELS MAKING COMPETITION

 

REELS MAKING COMPETITION CONDUCTED BY FILM CLUB OF MCCTE MAHE

The Film Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized a creative and engaging Reels Making Competition on 9 April 2025 at 3:00 PM in the college campus. The programme aimed to encourage digital creativity, storytelling skills, and media awareness among student-teachers in line with contemporary digital trends.

The event began with an introduction by the club coordinators, who emphasized the growing significance of short-form video content in communication, education, and entertainment. Participants were encouraged to craft meaningful, original, and visually appealing reels using themes related to cinema, social issues, creativity, or campus life.

Students showcased impressive talent in videography, editing, sound design, and on-screen performance. The reels displayed a variety of styles, including humorous clips, awareness messages, film-inspired content, and visually rich short narratives. The screening of selected entries generated an enthusiastic response from the audience.

A panel of faculty members evaluated the reels based on creativity, originality, clarity of message, technical quality, and overall impact. The best entries were recognized and appreciated with certificates.

Overall, the Reels Making Competition provided a platform for students to explore digital media skills and express themselves creatively, adding vibrancy to the co-curricular activities of the college.

Report on the Teacher Recruitment Programme

A Teacher Recruitment Programme was successfully organized at Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, on April 9, 2025, in association with SMS Vimal Group of Schools, Arakkonam. The event aimed to provide aspiring teachers with an opportunity for direct recruitment and interaction with school management representatives.

The programme began at 10:00 AM at the College Auditorium with a solemn prayer. The formal inaugural session followed, featuring a series of dignified addresses and ceremonies.

• The Welcome Address was delivered by Sri. Sreejesh MK, Vice-President, MCCIT.

• Sri. Sajith Narayan, President, MCCIT, delivered the Presidential Address.

• A Special Message was conveyed by Sri E. Valsaraj, Former Home Minister of Puducherry and Chairman of MCCIT, who emphasized the significance of such collaborations in shaping the professional futures of teacher trainees.

An Honoring Ceremony was held to appreciate the distinguished guests from SMS Vimal Group of Schools:

• Dr. T. Udaya Kumar, M.B.B.S., M.D., Chairman, SMS Vimal Group of Schools, was honored by Sri. E. Valsaraj.

• Mr. S. Gnana Deepan, M.Sc., B.Ed., M.Phil., Principal, SMS Vimal Group of Schools, was felicitated by Sri. Sajith Narayan.

• Mr. A. Mohan Kumar, D.Pharm., M.A., B.Ed., HR of SMS Vimal Group of Schools, was honored by Sri. Sreejesh MK.


Following the felicitation, Mr. A. Mohan Kumar gave an informative presentation about the

SMS Vimal Group of Schools, its mission, and the opportunities available for young educators.

The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal of the College, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, the management, faculty, and students for their active participation and support.

The formal function concluded with the National Anthem.

An interview session commenced immediately after the inaugural programme, where teacher trainees had the opportunity to interact with the recruitment team and present their credentials.

The event was a great success, providing valuable placement opportunities to the teacher trainees and strengthening the bond between the college and reputed educational institutions.

The programme aimed to highlight the role of sports in promoting peace, unity, equality, and social development. The observance encouraged students to recognize how sports can foster teamwork, mutual respect, discipline, and positive social engagement.

World Health Day

 World Health Day

World Health Day, celebrated on 7 April 2025, will kick off a year-longc ampaign on maternal and newborn health. The campaign, titledH ealthy beginnings, hopeful futures, will urge governments and the health community to ramp up efforts to end preventable maternal and newborn deaths, and to prioritize women's longer-term health and well-being. This year, 2025, the theme for World Health Day is "Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures." This theme focuses on enhancing the health and survival of mothers and newborns with the goal of increasing awareness of avoidable maternal and infant deaths. The campaign will stress the significance of high-quality care during pregnancy and postpartum care for both women and infants. Since, 50 years the World Health Days had thrown light on various health issues such as mental health, maternal and child care, and climate change. Patronising activities do continue beyond the celebration day is providing global focus on these important aspects of global health. The day is marked by a variety of activities and events, including public lectures, health campaigns, and community outreach programmes. Governments and organisations around the world also use the occasion to launch new health initiatives and programmes.

World Health Day were celebrated by the physical science department. The student of physical science department delivered a speech on the importance of world health day. It conveys the importance of mental health as like physical health.

The event began with an orientation session led by the club coordinators, who highlighted the relevance of community service in teacher education. The programme began with a welcome address, followed by an introduction explaining the significance of the “Red Alert” theme—symbolizing caution, awareness, and immediate action against drug-related issues affecting youth and society.

The session included:

  • Awareness Talk: A resource person explained the physical, psychological, and social consequences of drug abuse. Students were informed about high-risk situations and early signs of addiction.

  • Presentation on Red Alert Indicators: Visual materials highlighted warning signs of drug dependency, methods of early detection, and strategies for intervention.

  • Interactive Discussion: Students discussed real-life scenarios, peer pressure challenges, and ways to support friends or classmates who may be struggling.
