The Dance Club of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, conducted a Dance Workshop on 16 January 2025 at 2:00 PM. The programme aimed to enhance students’ dance skills, promote creativity, and encourage physical fitness through an interactive and enjoyable learning experience.

The event began with a welcome address by the club coordinator, who highlighted the importance of dance as a form of self-expression and a tool for developing confidence, discipline, and body coordination. A professional resource person led the workshop, introducing students to various dance techniques, basic movements, and rhythmic patterns.

During the session, participants learned step-by-step sequences, body posture techniques, and methods to synchronise movements with music. The workshop covered elements of classical, folk, and contemporary dance styles, allowing students to explore diverse forms of artistic expression. FILIM REVIEW

 

Film Review Session Conducted by the Film Club

The Film Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized a Film Review Session on 16 January 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the college campus.

The programme aimed to enhance students’ critical thinking, analytical skills, and appreciation for cinema as a powerful medium of expression. The session encouraged students to engage deeply with the selected film, examining its themes, narrative style, character development, technical aspects, and social relevance.

Participants actively took part by presenting thoughtful reviews of the film. They discussed various elements such as direction, cinematography, music, screenplay, symbolism, and emotional impact. The IT Club of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Workshop on PPT Making on 16 January 2025 at 9:00 AM with the objective of enhancing students’ digital presentation skills. The session was organised to familiarise learners with the essential tools and techniques required to create effective and visually appealing PowerPoint presentations.

The programme began with a brief introduction by the IT Club coordinator, who highlighted the importance of multimedia presentations in modern teaching and professional communication. The resource person demonstrated the basics of PowerPoint, including slide design, layout selection, use of themes, insertion of images and charts, and the application of transitions and animations. Participants were also guided on best practices for preparing content, maintaining clarity, and ensuring aesthetic balance.

A hands-on session allowed students to practise creating slides under guidance. They actively engaged in trying different layouts, experimenting with visual elements, and applying the techniques explained. The interactive approach helped them gain confidence in designing educational and professional presentations.

The workshop concluded with a short feedback session, during which participants expressed that the training was highly useful and relevant to their academic activities. The IT Club thanked all attendees for their enthusiastic participation.

The Guidance and Counselling Club of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, conducted a Career Workshop on 15 January 2024 at 2:00 PM. The programme was organised with the objective of providing student teachers with insights into career opportunities, professional skills, and pathways for future development in the field of education and beyond.

The session began with a welcome address by the club coordinator, who emphasised the importance of career planning and guidance for student teachers. The resource person for the workshop delivered an informative session on various career avenues available after completing the B.Ed. programme, including teaching positions, higher studies, competitive exams, and emerging fields in education.

Participants were briefed on essential professional skills such as resume preparation, interview etiquette, communication skills, and continuous skill enhancement. The resource person also shared practical tips on building confidence, developing a professional identity, and adapting to the dynamic demands of the teaching profession.

Interactive discussions, question–answer sessions, and real-life examples made the workshop highly engaging. Students actively participated and expressed their enthusiasm for exploring diverse career options. Army Day is celebrated on 15 January every year in India, in recognition of Lieutenant General Kodandera M. Cariappa's taking over as the first Commander-in- Chief of the Indian Army from General Francis Roy Bucher, the last British Commander-in-Chief of India, on 15 January 1949. The day is celebrated in the form of parades and other military shows in the National Capital New Delhi as well as in all headquarters.

The Energy Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized a Poster Making Competition on 15 January 2025 at 10:30 a.m. in the college campus.

The programme aimed to enhance students’ creativity and awareness about energy conservation, renewable resources, and sustainable living. The competition encouraged participants to visually express ideas on reducing energy consumption, promoting eco-friendly practices, and protecting the environment.

Students actively participated in the event and prepared informative and artistic posters highlighting themes such as energy efficiency, green energy, environmental protection, and responsible use of natural resources. The Sports Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized a Quiz Competition on 14 January 2025 at 1:30 p.m. in the college campus.

The programme aimed to encourage students to critically evaluate literary works and to share their interpretations confidently.

The session began with a brief introduction explaining the importance of book reviews in deepening understanding of literature and improving critical reading habits. Students were encouraged to focus on key aspects such as the theme, plot, character development, writing style, and overall message of the selected books.

Students actively participated by presenting reviews of different books they had read. Each participant shared a summary of the book, analyzed important characters and events, and expressed personal opinions about the relevance and impact of the book. National Youth Day



The National Youth Day or Rastriya Yuva Divas is celebrated on 12th January every year in commemoration of the great spiritual leader, philosopher and thinker Swami Vivekananda, whose unwavering belief in potential of youth continues to resonate deeply with young citizens of the country. His inspiring life and empowering message urge the youth to nurture their dreams, unleash their energies, and shape a future worthy of his envisioned ideals. The youth, defined as those within the age group of 15-29 years, make up nearly 40% of India's total population. Representing the most vibrant and dynamic segment of society, this group constitutes the nation's most valuable human resource. With their limitless potential, the youth hold the power to propel India to new heights of progress and innovation. National Youth Day serves as a moment to acknowledge, celebrate, and harness this potential, inspiring young minds to contribute meaningfully to the nation's development.

World Hindi Day

 On Behalf of World Hindi Day The students of Mahe Co-operative College conducted a talk on the topic focusing on the importance of the day it's significant features and on the major programs conducted on the day.

World Hindi Day is indeed celebrated on January 10th every year. This day marks the anniversary of the first World Hindi Conference, which was held in Nagpur, India on January 10, 1975 The conference aimed to promote Hindi as a global language and was inaugurated by then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

The day is also significant because it commemorates the first time Hindi was spoken in the United Nations General Assembly in 1949 2. World Hindi Day is celebrated not only in India but also in other countries with Hindi- speaking populations, such as Nepal, Guyana, and Mauritius.

The theme for World Hindi Day 2024 was "Hindi Traditional Knowledge and Bridging Artificial Intelligence" 2. The day is celebrated with various events, including literary programs, language competitions, and cultural events, to promote the use and appreciation of Hindi worldwide.

The Eco Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe celebrated National Youth Day on 10th January 2025 at 11:00 AM to honour the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and to inspire students to embrace the values of youth empowerment, responsibility, and environmental stewardship.

The programme began with a welcome address, followed by an introduction explaining the relevance of National Youth Day and Swami Vivekananda’s teachings. His messages on strength, character, service, and self-belief were highlighted as guiding principles for today’s youth.

As part of the celebration, the Eco Club organized various meaningful activities, including:

1. Inspirational Talk

A faculty member delivered an enlightening session on the life and ideas of Swami Vivekananda, emphasizing his vision of youth as catalysts of social and national progress. The discussion also connected his teachings to contemporary issues such as environmental care and sustainable development.

2. Youth Pledge

Students took a pledge to contribute positively to society, protect the environment, promote harmony, and uphold values of responsibility and compassion.

CONDUCTED BY THE IT CLUB OF MCCTE MAHE

The IT Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized an E-Waste Connect Programme on 10 January 2025 at 11:00 AM in the college campus. The programme aimed to create awareness among student teachers about the growing concerns related to electronic waste and to promote responsible disposal and recycling practices.

The session began with an introductory address by the club coordinators, who highlighted the environmental hazards caused by improper e-waste management. They emphasized the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling electronic materials to ensure a sustainable future.

The resource person conducted an informative session explaining the types of e-waste, their harmful effects on health and the environment, and the need for scientific disposal methods. Students were made aware of the lifecycle of electronic products and encouraged to adopt eco-friendly practices such as responsible consumption, safe disposal, and participation in recycling drives.

As part of the programme, an e-waste collection drive was also initiated on the campus. Students and faculty members contributed by depositing old mobile phones, chargers, damaged electronic accessories, and other unusable devices. The collected items were sorted and prepared for safe disposal through authorized recyclers.

The Green Protocol Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Debate Competition on 9th January 2025 at 2:00 PM. The event aimed to promote critical thinking, create awareness on environmental issues, and encourage students to express informed opinions on sustainability-related topics.

The programme began with a welcome address, followed by an introduction to the importance of debates in developing analytical skills, confidence, and awareness about eco-friendly practices. Students were briefed on the debate rules and judging criteria.

“Is achieving a zero-waste lifestyle truly possible in today’s society?”

NRI day was celebrated on 9 January 2025 by Mathematics department. Athira Sunil delivered a speech on the topic of importance of celebrating NRI Day in morning assembly. She highlights to remember the favours and contributions made by Non - Resident Indians to the welfare and development of the action, its history, and also about the Sushma Swaraj Bhavan, previously known as Pravasi Bharathiya Kendra.
