Women Cell Programme 2022

Women Cell Programme 2022

The Women Cell of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE), Mahe organized a programme on 2 December 2022 at 1.30 PM in the MCCTE Auditorium to create awareness about sexual harassment of women. The programme aimed to sensitize students about gender equality, women’s safety, and the importance of creating a respectful and secure environment for women in society.

As part of the programme, a movie screening related to the theme was arranged to help students understand the seriousness of sexual harassment and its impact on women’s lives. The film effectively conveyed messages about respect, dignity, and the need to stand against any form of harassment or discrimination.

In addition to the movie screening, students presented a mime performance highlighting the issue of sexual harassment and the struggles faced by women. The silent performance creatively portrayed the emotional and social challenges experienced by victims and emphasized the need for awareness and collective responsibility in addressing such issues.

The programme successfully engaged the students and encouraged meaningful reflection on the importance of women’s rights and safety. It helped create awareness among future teachers about their role in promoting gender sensitivity and equality in educational institutions and society.

The event concluded with positive feedback from the participants, making the programme both informative and impactful.
