The Quiz Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Children’s Day Quiz on 14th November 2024 at 11:00 AM to commemorate Children’s Day and to promote awareness about childhood, education, and child rights.

The programme began with a welcome address, followed by a brief introduction on the significance of Children’s Day and the contributions of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, whose birth anniversary is celebrated as this special day. Students were encouraged to reflect on the importance of nurturing children with love, education, and opportunities for growth.

Several teams participated actively in the quiz, which included rounds such as:

  • General Knowledge and Child Rights

  • Famous Personalities and Children's Literature

  • Cartoons, Stories, and Entertainment

  • Indian Constitution and Children's Welfare Schemes

  • Rapid-Fire Round

Participants demonstrated enthusiasm, teamwork, and sharp thinking throughout the competition. The quiz created a lively and joyful environment, reflecting the spirit of Children’s Day and encouraging learning with fun.

The Quiz Club coordinators conducted the event efficiently, ensuring fair scoring and clarity in rules. Students from the audience also engaged by answering bonus questions and cheering for their favourite teams.

At the end of the competition, the winning team was declared and appreciated for their impressive performance. All participants received acknowledgement for their efforts and active involvement.

The programme concluded with a message emphasizing the value of protecting children’s rights and promoting holistic development for every child.

The Children’s Day Quiz was an enjoyable and educational event, successfully reinforcing the Quiz Club’s mission to encourage knowledge-building, participation, and awareness among students.



CHILDREN’S DAY IN INDIA & WORLD DIABETES DAY

 


Children’s Day is celebrated on different dates in various countries, but in India, it is observed on November 14th , coinciding with Jawaharlal Nehru’s birthday. Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister, was fondly known as “Chacha Nehru” for his love and dedication to children. He believed that children are the future of the nation and advocated for their education, health, and welfare. The
significance of celebrating Children’s Day are promoting child rights and welfare, encouraging education and learning, fostering a sense of nationalism and unity and recognizing the importance of childhood development.






On the behalf of Children’s Day we the Mathematics department conducted a POSTER MAKING COMPETITON. 11 students participated and the judgement was done on 15th November 2024. The winners were Sruthi S from Biological Science department, got first prize, Rishinand and Abhiram from Social Science department, shared the second prize. Later all posters were pinned on the notice board.









WORLD DIABETES DAY

14TH NOVEMBER 2024









World Diabetes Day (WDD) is celebrated annually on November 14th. It was introduced in 1991 by the International Diabetes Federation(IDF) and the World Health Organization (WHO). The theme for WDD varies each year, but the overall focus is on:

1. Raising awareness about diabetes.
2. Promoting diabetes prevention and management.
3. Supporting people living with diabetes.
The World Diabetes Day program was conducted by Mathematics department and it was led by Anusree K K. Anusree highlighted the previous themes, the key facts of diabetes, risk factors of diabetes, prevention and management, WDD activities etc. And also talk about
the Blue Circle symbol which is the global symbol for diabetes awareness, representing unity and support .

The Music Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Violin Day Video Presentation on 13th December 2024 at 2:30 AM to celebrate the beauty, history, and musical significance of the violin. The programme aimed to introduce students to the evolution of the instrument, its role in various musical traditions, and the contributions of legendary violinists.

The session began with a brief introduction to Violin Day and the importance of appreciating classical instruments that have shaped musical culture across centuries. A specially curated video was presented, showcasing notable performances, the structure and mechanics of the violin, and the diverse playing techniques used in both Indian and Western classical music.

Students attentively watched the presentation, gaining insights into the craftsmanship of the instrument, the emotional depth it conveys, and its versatility across genres. The video featured renowned violinists whose mastery and dedication inspired viewers and heightened their appreciation for the art of violin playing.

Following the presentation, a short discussion was held where students shared their observations and reflected on the expressive power of the violin. Faculty members emphasized the importance of preserving traditional instruments and understanding their role in enriching cultural heritage.

The programme concluded with appreciation from the coordinators, who encouraged students to explore classical music further and recognize the value of instruments that continue to influence the musical world. The Violin Day Video Presentation was an informative and inspiring initiative, reflecting the Music Club’s commitment to promoting musical awareness, cultural appreciation, and artistic learning among students.

WORLD KINDNESS DAY

 

World Kindness Day is an international observance on 13 November. It was introduced in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement, a coalition of nations' kindness NGOs. It is observed in many countries, including Canada, Australia, Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates.

World Kindness Program was conducted by Mathematics department and led by Anjana Das. Anjana talked about the importance of celebrating the day. Also she included the good deeds in the community focusing on the positive power and the common thread of kindness for good which binds us.

The Grievance Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted its Monthly Tea and Talk Session with the Principal and Staff on 12th November 2024 at 11:58 AM. The session aimed to create an open, informal, and welcoming platform where students could interact freely with the Principal and faculty members, share their concerns, and discuss matters related to academic and campus life.

The programme began with an introduction emphasizing the importance of communication and transparency between students and the administration. The Tea and Talk session provided a relaxed atmosphere, allowing participants to engage in meaningful conversations without formal barriers. Students were encouraged to express their suggestions, share feedback, and discuss any issues they felt needed attention.

During the session, several topics were addressed, including classroom needs, academic support, campus facilities, student well-being, and extracurricular activities. The Principal and staff members responded to the concerns raised, offering clarity, guidance, and possible solutions. They also assured students that all constructive suggestions would be considered for implementation wherever feasible.

The interaction strengthened mutual understanding and enhanced trust between students and the institution. Students appreciated the opportunity to share their perspectives directly with the administration, while faculty members acknowledged the value of student input in improving the campus environment.

The programme concluded with expressions of gratitude from the coordinators, who highlighted the importance of maintaining such open communication platforms regularly. The Monthly Tea and Talk Session was a positive and effective initiative, reflecting the Grievance Club’s commitment to fostering dialogue, inclusiveness, and a supportive academic community.



Quiz Competition-TRANSGENDER AWARENESS

 

Quiz Competition Conducted by the Transgender Club

The Transgender Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized a Quiz Competition on 12 November 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the college campus.

The programme aimed to promote awareness, knowledge, and sensitivity regarding transgender identities, gender diversity, and social inclusion. The quiz competition was designed to engage students in an interactive learning experience while encouraging them to explore important topics related to human rights, equality, and social justice.

Participants took part with great enthusiasm, answering questions related to gender identity, landmark legal developments, transgender history, and contemporary issues faced by the transgender community. The competition stimulated curiosity, enhanced understanding, and encouraged respectful dialogue among students.

The event received active participation from students and created a vibrant and supportive atmosphere on campus. It helped reinforce the institution's commitment to fostering inclusive values and promoting gender sensitivity.

The programme concluded successfully, with positive feedback from the participants. The Transgender Club expressed its intention to continue organizing similar awareness-driven and student-centered activities in the future.

WORLD PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION DAY & WORLD SCIENCE DAY FOR PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT


 
On Behalf of, World public transport day as well a World science day of peace and development day which is celebrated on November 10 Sunday, Students of Mahe Co-operative college of teacher Education ,English Department conducted programs on November 11th World Public Transport Day is celebrated on November 10th to promote the use of sustainable public transport. It is a day to raise awareness of the benefits of public transport, such as reducing traffic congestion, air pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions . The theme for World Public Transport Day 2024 is “Connecting Communities, Reducing Emissions”. This theme highlights the critical role of public transport in fostering social connections while actively reducing the environmental impact of private vehicles. 





On Nov 11th Ms. Amaya K V from English department of MCCTE presented a speech on the importance of the public transport their uses demerits and so on. After the completion of the speech, she asked questions on the same to various students of each department ensuring that each of the students understood the significance and even  asked them to illustrate the same with an example .




World Science Day for Peace and Development





it was celebrated on November 10th highlights the significant role of science in society and the need to engage the wider public in debates on emerging scientific issues. It also underlines the importance and relevance of science in our daily lives. By linking science more closely with society, World Science Day for Peace and Development aims to ensure that citizens are kept informed of developments in science. It also underscores the role scientists play in broadening our understanding of the remarkable, fragile planet we call home and in making our societies more sustainable. The Day offers the
opportunity to mobilize all actors around the topic of science for peace and development – from government officials to the media to school pupils. UNESCO strongly encourages all to join in celebrating World Science Day
for Peace and Development by organizing your own event or activity on the day. The theme for World Science Day for Peace and Development in 2024 is “Why Science Matters – Engaging Minds and Empowering Futures”.




As part of this day Ms. Sneha Anil from English department of MCCTE presented a speech and conducted a quiz as well on the same on November 11th ensuring that each of the students are made aware of the day .

The Grievance Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Feedback Session on 11th November 2024 at 10:48 AM with the objective of evaluating the effectiveness of the club’s activities and strengthening its grievance redressal system. The session aimed to provide students with an open platform to share their opinions, experiences, and suggestions regarding the functioning of the Grievance Club.

The programme began with a brief introduction highlighting the importance of continuous improvement in student support services. Faculty coordinators explained that the feedback session was designed to ensure transparency, enhance responsiveness, and promote trust between students and the institution. Students were encouraged to express their views freely and responsibly.

During the session, students shared their experiences related to grievance handling, accessibility of the club, and the effectiveness of existing complaint mechanisms. Many students acknowledged the initiatives undertaken by the club, such as the complaint box setup, awareness programmes, and timely resolution of issues. Participants also provided constructive suggestions to further improve communication channels, increase awareness about grievance procedures, and enhance confidentiality measures.

The session fostered open dialogue and mutual understanding, allowing coordinators to gain insights into student needs and expectations. Faculty members addressed concerns raised during the discussion and assured students that the recommendations would be taken into consideration for future improvements.

The programme concluded with gratitude expressed to all participants for their valuable input and cooperation. In Connection with National Education Day celebrated on November 11th students of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, English association organised programs on Nov National Education Day is an annual observance in India to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first education minister of independent India, who served from 15 August 1947 until 2 February 1958. National Education Day of India is celebrated on 11 November every Year The Ministry of Human Resource Development announced on 11 September 2008, "The Ministry has decided to commemorate the birthday of this great son of India by recalling his contribution to the cause of education in India. November 11 every year, from 2008 onwards, will be celebrated as the National Education Day, with declaring it as a holiday. "The day is also seen occasion to remember Azad's contribution in laying the foundations of the education system in an independent India, and evaluating and improving the country's current performance in the field.The theme under National Education Day 2024 will ponder the theme of inclusive quality education. This theme amserts high-quality education, which aptly endows the participants with the needed skills and knowledge in a changing world. Academic success will go hand in hand with fostering critical thinking, creativity, and emotional intelligence.

NATIONAL LEGAL SERVICES DAY


 National Legal Services Day is celebrated on November 9th every year in India to commemorate the enactment of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987. This day emphasizes the importance of providing legal services to the poor, marginalized, and vulnerable sections of society. The Legal Services Authorities Act aims to provide free legal services to those who cannot afford it, ensuring access to justice for all.



On this day, legal aid camps, workshops, and seminars are conducted to promote legal literacy and provide free legal services. Legal aid providers, including lawyers and paralegals, work tirelessly to promote access to justice. National Legal Services Day recognizes their contributions and reaffirms our commitment to social justice and the rule of law.This day serves as a reminder that access to justice is a fundamental right, and it is our responsibility to ensure that everyone has access to legal services. By celebrating National Legal Services Day, we reinforce our dedication to creating a just and equitable society where everyone has the opportunity to seek justice.The program was conducted by the Social Science Department, led by Abhiram Murali. K, who organized a comprehensive seminar to commemorate National Legal Service Day. The seminar aimed to raise awareness about the importance of legal services and the role of the Legal Services Authorities Act in providing access to justice for all. Abhiram delivered a keynote address, highlighting the significance of National Legal Service Day and the need for legal literacy and awareness. He emphasized the importance of legal services in promoting social justice and ensuring that everyone has access to justice, regardless of their socio-economic background. Additionally, there were interactive sessions, panel discussions, and a question-answer session. Through this seminar, Abhiram and the Social Science Department successfully promoted the objectives of National Legal Service Day and inspired participants to become more aware of their legal rights and responsibilities.

COLLEGE UNION AND FINE ARTS CLUB INAUGURATION


 The inauguration day of the College Union and Fine Arts Club was a grand success, marked by enthusiasm, creativity, and a sense of community. The event was attended by students, faculty members, and distinguished guests.

Before the ceremony began an PowerPoint screening videos of notable figures and artists, felicitations by Sajan Palluruthy (Filim Actor, Comedian), Jeo Babu (Director, Actor, Producer), Sudhan Kaiveli(Mimicry Artist, Realityshow Perfomer), Mahesh Kunjumon (Mimicry Artist, Dubbing Artist) And Lidhi Lal (Comedian, Mimicri Artist), followed by a welcome dance, a captivating performance by the students of MCCTE, Diya Sudhakaran, Sheethal Susandh, Bhavana A, Keerthana.V, and Soorya Sugathan.



The guests were invited to the stage and the inauguration ceremony began with a heartfelt prayer by Ann Mary Jose and Nisni A P, followed by a warm welcome address by The General Secretary Vyas Jagadeesh, Presidential address by the Chairman C Nandana, The chief guest Sri Valsaraj sir delivered a thought-provokeynote address, emphasizing the importance of extra curricular activities in fostering creativity teamwork, and leadership skills. The audience was inspired by the guest's words, which set the tone for the rest of the event. The Fine Arts Club was officially launched by the Chief Guest, Eby N Joseph a renowned artist and the vice chairperson of Kerala Lalithakala Akademi. The club's mission, objectives, and planned activities were presented to the audience, the club's founding members and office bearers were introduced, and their enthusiasm was palpable. The event also marked the beginning of a new era of creativity, collaboration and community engagement, an exciting initiatives and activities of a new music band was officially announced and Both the chief guests inaugurated the College Union and Fine Arts Club by lighting the lamp, revealing the names of new troupes of MCCTE during this moment, Likha the new college union and a new music band by the students Rithwa. By extending gratitude to our chief guests for gracing the occasion with their presence, also thanking our faculty members, students, and staff for their tireless efforts in making this event a success, the Fine Arts Secretary Athira CV delivered the vote of thanks.




An exhibition showcasing the artistic talents of students was also organized, the students.
demonstrated their creativity, an exquisite illustration of art by Malavika R and teams made a banner that was displayed in the background of the stage, also an event featuring a range of cultural performances, including instruments and vocals played by Rithwa the new band, the students. showcased their talents, and the audience was treated to an evening of entertainment and delight.

The Biological Science Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted an Essay Competition on 8th November 2024 at 2:00 PM with the aim of encouraging students to think critically about biological and environmental issues, enhance their writing skills, and promote scientific awareness. The event provided a platform for students to express their ideas and perspectives on topics related to biology, ecology, and conservation.

The programme began with a brief introduction to the purpose of the competition and instructions regarding the rules, word limit, and evaluation criteria. Students were given a relevant and thought-provoking topic to write on, enabling them to apply their scientific knowledge creatively and analytically. Participants wrote essays that reflected their understanding of biological concepts, current environmental challenges, and the importance of sustainable practices.

Students showcased strong writing skills, presenting well-organized arguments supported by factual information and relevant examples. Their essays demonstrated clarity, creativity, and a genuine interest in scientific exploration. Faculty coordinators evaluated the submissions based on content accuracy, originality, coherence, language quality, and the ability to communicate scientific ideas effectively.

The competition helped students improve their research and writing abilities while deepening their awareness of important scientific themes. It also encouraged independent thinking, reflective learning, and effective communication—skills essential for academic and professional development.

The programme concluded with appreciation for all participants and recognition of the most outstanding entries. The Essay Competition was a meaningful and enriching initiative, reflecting the Biological Science Club’s commitment to promoting scientific literacy, critical thinking, and academic excellence among students.

WORLD RADIO GRAPHY DAY

 


World Radiology Day is observed every year on 8th November to commemorate the historic discovery of x-radiation by Sir Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen which changed the field of healthcare and medicine. This day recognises and honours the pivotal role of radiographers in the modern healthcare system. This year, 2024, the World Radiography Day Theme is "Radiographers: Seeing the Unseen". In 2007, on November 8, 
World Radiography Day was observed by the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists. In 2012, the first major event of the day was organized when the European Society of Radiology (ESR), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and the American College of Radiology (ACR) joined together for the initiative. The 11th International Day of Radiology will be observed this year.



World radiography day was celebrated by physical science department. We conducted a speech on the importance and history of radiography day. The speech was delivered by Arathi. M of 1 year physical science department

Marie Curie Day- Poster Making Competition

 

 Poster Making Competition Held on Marie Curie Day

The Chemistry Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized a Poster Making Competition in connection with Marie Curie Day on 7 November 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the college campus.

The programme aimed to honour the remarkable contributions of Marie Curie, the pioneering scientist known for her discoveries in radioactivity and for being the first woman to win a Nobel Prize. The competition encouraged students to express their creativity while deepening their understanding of Curie’s scientific achievements and her impact on the world of chemistry and physics.

Participants prepared posters highlighting Marie Curie’s life, her groundbreaking research, her perseverance as a woman in science, and the relevance of her work in modern scientific developments. The event provided an engaging platform for students to combine artistic skills with scientific knowledge.

The competition witnessed active and enthusiastic participation. The posters were evaluated based on creativity, content accuracy, visual presentation, and relevance to the theme. The activity fostered scientific awareness, creativity, and appreciation for historical scientific contributions.

The event concluded successfully, adding a meaningful and educational dimension to the Marie Curie Day observance. The Chemistry Club expressed its commitment to conducting more such inspiring academic activities in the future.

DIWALI

 


Diwali , also called Deepavali is the Hindu festival of lights , with variations celebrated in other Indian religions such as Jainism and Sikhism. It symbolises the spiritual victory of Dharma and Adharma , light over darkness , good overview , and knowledge over ignorance. It is celebrated over five days. It is often referred to as the “Festival of Lights”. It is typically falls between Mid-october And mid-November. On this year we celebrated Diwali on 31st October 2024.



The Diwali program was celebrated by Mathematics department and was led by Soorya Sugathan. Soorya delivered a speech on the topic Diwali. Highlighted history, significance, traditions, five day celebration of Diwali,regional celebration, Diwali foods.

INFANT PROTECTION DAY

 


The Infant Protection Day is observed to generate awareness on ensuring wellbeing of infants and to promote healthy development. Hyderabad: Infant Protection Day, observed on November 7 every year, is dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of ensuring the safety, health and well-being of infants.

NATIONAL CANCER AWARENESS DAY


 On November 7th each year, India observes National Cancer Awareness Day an initiative that aims to raise awareness about the growing cancer burden in the country and inspire action towards prevention, early detection, and treatment. India is the first country in the world to officially recognize National Cancer Awareness Day. The date was chosen not only to honour the birth of Nobel Laureate Madame Marie Curie, who discovered radioactivity and whose work has had a profound impact on cancer treatment but also to reflect India's commitment to addressing cancer as a public health priority.
