One-Day National Professional Enrichment Workshop on Educational Aid Design

Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE), Mahe, organized a One-Day National Professional Enrichment Workshop on the topic “Educational Aid Design for Student Teachers” on 29th July 2025.

The workshop aimed to equip student teachers with the skills and creativity required to design effective and innovative educational aids that enhance classroom teaching and learning. The programme provided a platform for participants to understand the importance of teaching aids in making lessons more engaging, interactive, and learner-centered.

The resource person for the workshop was Sri. Raman Master, a retired teacher from T.T.M. Girls Higher Secondary School, Nadapuram, who is widely recognized for his excellence in innovative teaching practices. Notably, he was awarded the First Prize for innovative teaching technique at the South Indian Science Festival in 2007.

During the session, Sri. Raman Master shared his vast experience and demonstrated various techniques for designing low-cost, effective, and creative teaching aids using easily available materials. He emphasized the role of visual and activity-based aids in improving student understanding and retention. The session also included practical demonstrations, enabling participants to gain hands-on experience in developing their own teaching aids.

The workshop witnessed active participation from student teachers, who showed great enthusiasm in engaging with the activities and discussions. The interactive nature of the session encouraged creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration among the participants.

Overall, the workshop was highly informative and beneficial, enhancing the professional skills of student teachers and inspiring them to adopt innovative approaches in their teaching practices.
