The Dance Club of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, celebrated International Dance Day on 29 April 2025 at 3:30 PM with great enthusiasm and artistic spirit. The event aimed to promote cultural expression, encourage creativity, and highlight the significance of dance as a powerful medium of communication and emotional expression.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome by the club coordinator, who expressed the importance of celebrating International Dance Day as a tribute to the rich traditions of dance across the world. The inaugural message emphasised how dance enhances physical well-being, confidence, and cultural appreciation among students.

As part of the celebration, students performed a variety of dance forms, including classical, folk, contemporary, and thematic performances. The Discipline Club of MCCTE Mahe organised a Recognition Programme on 29 April 2024 at 11:45 AM in the college campus. The programme aimed to acknowledge and appreciate students who demonstrated exemplary discipline, responsible behaviour, and adherence to college norms throughout the academic year.

The event began with a welcome address by the club coordinator, who emphasised the importance of recognising positive behaviour as a means of motivating the student community. Selected students were honoured for their achievements in maintaining punctuality, active participation in academic activities, respectful conduct, and overall discipline.

Certificates of appreciation were distributed by faculty members, who also shared encouraging words and congratulated the awardees. The recognition not only celebrated individual achievements but also inspired other students to follow disciplined practices in their daily academic life.

World Malaria Day

 On April 25, 2024, the Department of Biological Science at Mahe Cooperative College of Teacher Education organized a special morning assembly to commemorate World Malaria Day. 

This event aimed to raise awareness about malaria prevention and control among students and faculty members.

The assembly featured an informative presentation detailing the causes, symptoms, and prevention methods of malaria. Emphasis was placed on the importance of eliminating mosquito breeding sites and the use of protective measures such as insecticide-treated nets.

Students actively participated by presenting posters and delivering speeches that highlighted the global impact of malaria and the steps individuals can take to prevent its spread.

The assembly concluded with a call to action, urging everyone to engage in community efforts aimed at reducing malaria transmission and supporting public health initiatives.

STORY BUILDING ACTIVITY

The English Club of MCCTE Mahe organized an interactive Story Building activity on 25 April 2024 at 11:00 AM in the college campus. The programme was designed to encourage creativity, collaborative thinking, and proficiency in English language among the students.

The event commenced with a warm welcome by the club coordinators, followed by a briefing on the objectives and rules of the activity. Students were invited to contribute to a collective story by adding lines one after another, ensuring continuity and coherence in the narrative. This stimulated their imagination and helped improve spontaneous language usage.

Participants actively engaged in the exercise, contributing unique ideas and plot twists that made the story lively, humorous, and engaging. The activity fostered teamwork, enhanced communication skills, and motivated students to express themselves confidently in English.

World Book Day

 World Book Day

World Book Day was created by UNESCO on 23rd April 1995 as a worldwide celebration of books and reading.World Book Day is marked in over 100 countries around the globe.The first World Book Day in the UK and Ireland took place in 1997 to encourage young people to discover the pleasure of reading.

As World Book Day founder,Baroness Gail Rebuck,recalls “We wanted to do something to reposition reading and our message is the same today as it was then-that reading is fun,relevant,accessible,exciting,and has the power to transform lives.”

On April 23,2024,the Social Science Association of Mahe Co-operative College of Teachers Education organized a program to commemorate World Book Day. The event commenced at 9:30 am and was hosted by Hridya, a first-year B.Ed.social science student. Anusree C.K.,also a first-year B.Ed social science student,was invited to speak about the significance of World Book Day.Additionally, as a part of the festivities,the social science association held a Book Review Writing Competition.

The programme began with a welcome note and a brief introduction to the significance of World Book Day, highlighting the role of books in enriching knowledge, creativity, and imagination. Students were encouraged to value reading as an essential part of personal and academic growth.

Participants delivered speeches on various book-related themes, including:

  • The importance of reading in today’s digital world

  • Books that changed their lives

  • The role of literature in shaping society

  • Favourite authors and their contributions

Each speaker showcased confidence, clarity, and expressive delivery. The event provided a platform for students to enhance their public speaking skills while celebrating the joy of reading.

The judging panel evaluated the speeches based on content, presentation, clarity, confidence, and overall impact. The competition concluded with the announcement of winners and words of appreciation for all participants.

The programme began with a welcome address by the club coordinators, who highlighted the importance of drama in developing confidence, communication skills, and teamwork. Several student groups participated, each presenting short plays based on diverse themes such as social issues, humor, moral values, and contemporary challenges.

Participants delivered strong performances with impressive dialogue delivery, expressive acting, creative costumes, and effective stage management. The audience responded enthusiastically, appreciating the effort and artistic talent displayed by the performers. The Language Club of MCCTE Mahe organized a Language-Based Teaching Aids Display on 23 April 2024 at 10:00 AM in the college campus. The programme aimed to encourage creativity in preparing instructional materials and to highlight the significance of teaching aids in supporting effective language learning.

The session began with an introductory note by the club coordinators, who emphasized the importance of visual, auditory, and interactive aids in making language concepts more engaging and understandable. Students actively participated by designing and exhibiting various teaching aids such as flashcards, charts, story cards, phonetic wheels, grammar models, and vocabulary boards.

The exhibits reflected the students’ creativity, pedagogical understanding, and skill in developing classroom-friendly materials. Participants explained the purpose, usage, and educational value of each aid, creating an informative and interactive environment.

The Drama Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Drama Workshop on 22nd April 2024 at 11:00 AM with the objective of enhancing students’ theatrical skills, creativity, and confidence in stage performance.

The programme began with a welcome address, followed by a brief introduction to the purpose of the workshop. The resource person explained the importance of drama in education, emphasizing how theatre helps in self-expression, communication, teamwork, and emotional development.

The workshop included interactive sessions focusing on:

  • Basic acting techniques

  • Voice modulation and expression

  • Body language and stage presence

  • Improvisation activities

  • Short role-play exercises

Students actively participated in each activity, showing enthusiasm and interest. The hands-on exercises helped them explore their creativity, overcome stage fear, and develop confidence in performing before an audience.

The instructor also shared valuable tips on script interpretation, character building, and maintaining audience engagement, making the session highly enriching and practical.

The workshop concluded with a short performance by participants, where they applied the techniques learned during the session. The audience appreciated their efforts, and the resource person provided constructive feedback and encouragement.

World Heritage Day, which is also known as the International Monuments and Sites Day, celebrates the work carried out by the ICOMOS-International Council on Monuments and Sites. The day is all about increasing the awareness of the importance of the diversity of cultural heritage and preserving Nation for generations in the future. 

Ancient monuments and buildings are an asset to us all around the world. Mahe co-operative college of teacher education, Mahe celebrated this day on April 18th 2024. The programme was led by English department students. A talk was conducted by Swetha T.P. After the talk a game named JAM also known as just a minute was conducted. To play Just a Minute you must speak for a minute on a given subject. If you hesitate, repeat yourself, or deviate, an opponent will interrupt and take the subject. Points are gained for speaking when the minute is up, correctly interrupting, or being wrongly interrupted. 

From each department students were given topics and asked to present the topic following the rules of the game. The math department student won the game.

She talked about Hemophilia and the theme of World Hemophilia Day on 2024. We got wonderful feedbacks from students and teachers as the program was very informative.

It's a special day dedicated to remembering and appreciating the life of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar.An economist and a reformer, Ambedkar played a pivotal role in shaping the Indian Constitution and served as the first Law Minister of Independent India.

Jallian Wallah Bagh Massacre Day

 Jallian wallah bhagh massacre day

April 13 2024



The Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, also known as the Massacre of Amritsar, was an incident that took place on April 13, 1919. That day, British troops fired on a large crowd of unarmed Indians in an open space called the Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar, in the Punjab region (now in Punjab state) of India Several hundred people, including children, died, and hundreds more were wounded. This incident is a turning point in India's modem history that led to Gandi's full commitment to the cause of Indian nationalism and independence from Britain No doubt, the incident left a permanent scar on Indo-British relations.

This massacre exposed the inhuman approach of the British when the British troop cold- bloodedly opened fire on an unarmed crowd without any warning by General Dyer who had assembled at the enclosed park for the public meeting that was banned.

On 13th March 2024, the Social Science Association of Mahe Co-operative College of Teachers Education organized an event to commemorate the Jallian wala Bagh Massacre Day. The program commenced at 9:30 am, with Pranav, a first-year B.Ed. Social Science student, serving as the anchor ; Swathi, also a first-year B.Ed. Social Science student, was invited to share her insights on the significance of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre Day.

where motherhood is synonymous with safety and well-being,not

fear and loss.


As part of National safe motherhood day,English association

students conducted a programme.Fiza delivered the speech.

Following the talk,students were given a topic for a caption

writing contest.The winning caption was announced based on

the best caption.The caption is given below;-

"Being a mother has a very humanizing impact.Everything is

The Social Science Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe organized a Field Trip on 11th April 2024 at 8:00 AM with the objective of providing students with experiential learning opportunities and practical exposure to social, cultural, and historical environments. The trip aimed to enhance classroom learning by enabling students to observe real-life applications of the concepts they study.

Students, accompanied by faculty members, visited selected locations of social and educational significance. Throughout the trip, students explored various aspects related to community life, governance, heritage, and cultural practices. They interacted with local authorities and community members, gaining insights into administrative functioning, cultural diversity, and societal structures.

The field trip also helped students understand the importance of observation, inquiry, and critical thinking in social science education. Students maintained field notes, took photographs, and recorded observations that would later support their academic reflections and project work. The interaction with the environment beyond the classroom gave them a broader perspective on social realities and community dynamics.

The journey fostered teamwork, cooperation, and communication among students. Faculty members guided discussions during the trip, helping students connect their observations with theoretical concepts. The experience encouraged awareness, sensitivity, and appreciation for cultural heritage and social responsibilities.

The programme concluded with students sharing their learning experiences, expressing that the trip helped them understand social structures more concretely and meaningfully. The Field Trip was an enriching and educational experience, reflecting the Social Science Club’s commitment to providing holistic and experiential learning opportunities to students.

Every year on April 10th, World Homeopathy Day honours the memory of Dr. Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy. The day also challenges understanding and strategies that will further develop homeopathy.

Since 10th April was holiday due to Eid Al-Fitr, we celebrated the World Homeopathy Day on 18th April by organizing a talk. At the assembly, Shana MK, first year B.Ed Physical science student delivered a speech about day.

She spoke about the Homeopathy, it's importance and Dr. Hahnemann who was the father of Homeopathy.

ELECTION AWARENESS PROGRAMME

 Election Awareness Programme Conducted at Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education

Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education conducted an election awareness campaign to create voting awareness among students. The programme was conducted on April 9 on the college campus. A team of election officials, including teachers, evaluated the creative exhibition related to the election process. Mr.Shijith, the English lecturer of Mahatma Gandhi Government College Mahe, inaugurated the program,          and Mr.Sajeendran, the physical training teacher of Pandakkal School,                       and Mr. Gireesh, the office staff of Mahatma Gandhi Government College, shared a few words about the importance of the election process. They also congratulated the students for their creative contributions to the exhibition. Mr. Ashil. A.K.,General Secretary of the College Union concluded the function by thanking all the guests,teachers, other staff, participants, and all students.

The Health Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe organized Mental Health Day Activities on 8th April 2024 at 4:30 PM with the objective of creating awareness about emotional well-being and promoting a positive, supportive campus environment.

The programme began with a brief introduction on the significance of Mental Health Day and the importance of prioritizing mental wellness in daily life. Students were encouraged to understand mental health as an essential part of overall well-being, just like physical health.

The activities conducted as part of the programme included:

  • Mindfulness and Relaxation Exercises:
    Participants were guided through simple breathing techniques and relaxation practices designed to reduce stress and improve focus.

  • Awareness Talk:
    A short talk emphasized the importance of recognizing symptoms of stress, anxiety, and emotional imbalance, along with healthy coping strategies.

  • Interactive Sharing Session:
    Students were invited to share their thoughts, experiences, and ways they manage emotional challenges. This activity fostered openness, support, and peer bonding.

  • Poster-Making / Thought Cards (Optional Activity):
    Some participants prepared awareness messages and motivational thoughts, promoting a mentally healthy campus atmosphere.

The event concluded with a message encouraging students to seek support when needed, practise self-care regularly, and contribute to a culture of empathy and understanding.

April 7th was announced as the World Health Day, to honour the founding of the global health body. The day underscores the importance of primary health care facilities, proper sanitation habits, and availability of clean water. 

The theme of this year's World Health Day, "My Health, My Right", underscores the imperative that access to essential health services should be regarded not as a privilege, but as a fundamental human right.

Mathematics association of Mahe co operative college of teachers education conducted a program on 08 April 2024 to celebrate world health day. The program was held at 9.30am.

Amrutha Asok, First year B ed mathematics student was the anchor. She invited Drishya chandran, First year B ed mathematics student to talk about world health day and its importance.

Every member of the college community played a role in the preparations, contributing food items, decorations, and organizing logistics for the gathering. The collective spirit and dedication showcased the unity and teamwork within the college. The atmosphere during the celebration was joyous and festive, characterized by camaraderie and togetherness. Students and staff engaged in meaningful conversations, strengthening bonds and fostering a sense of community within the college.
