The Social Science Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe organized a Field Trip on 11th April 2024 at 8:00 AM with the objective of providing students with experiential learning opportunities and practical exposure to social, cultural, and historical environments. The trip aimed to enhance classroom learning by enabling students to observe real-life applications of the concepts they study.
Students, accompanied by faculty members, visited selected locations of social and educational significance. Throughout the trip, students explored various aspects related to community life, governance, heritage, and cultural practices. They interacted with local authorities and community members, gaining insights into administrative functioning, cultural diversity, and societal structures.
The field trip also helped students understand the importance of observation, inquiry, and critical thinking in social science education. Students maintained field notes, took photographs, and recorded observations that would later support their academic reflections and project work. The interaction with the environment beyond the classroom gave them a broader perspective on social realities and community dynamics.
The journey fostered teamwork, cooperation, and communication among students. Faculty members guided discussions during the trip, helping students connect their observations with theoretical concepts. The experience encouraged awareness, sensitivity, and appreciation for cultural heritage and social responsibilities.
The programme concluded with students sharing their learning experiences, expressing that the trip helped them understand social structures more concretely and meaningfully. The Field Trip was an enriching and educational experience, reflecting the Social Science Club’s commitment to providing holistic and experiential learning opportunities to students.
