 MENTAL HEALTH DAY ACTIVITIES

The Health Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe organized Mental Health Day Activities on 8th April 2024 at 4:30 PM with the objective of creating awareness about emotional well-being and promoting a positive, supportive campus environment.

The programme began with a brief introduction on the significance of Mental Health Day and the importance of prioritizing mental wellness in daily life. Students were encouraged to understand mental health as an essential part of overall well-being, just like physical health.

The activities conducted as part of the programme included:

  • Mindfulness and Relaxation Exercises:
    Participants were guided through simple breathing techniques and relaxation practices designed to reduce stress and improve focus.

  • Awareness Talk:
    A short talk emphasized the importance of recognizing symptoms of stress, anxiety, and emotional imbalance, along with healthy coping strategies.

  • Interactive Sharing Session:
    Students were invited to share their thoughts, experiences, and ways they manage emotional challenges. This activity fostered openness, support, and peer bonding.

  • Poster-Making / Thought Cards (Optional Activity):
    Some participants prepared awareness messages and motivational thoughts, promoting a mentally healthy campus atmosphere.

The event concluded with a message encouraging students to seek support when needed, practise self-care regularly, and contribute to a culture of empathy and understanding.

The Mental Health Day Activities successfully created awareness, provided tools for emotional well-being, and strengthened the Health Club’s mission to nurture a mentally healthy and student-friendly campus.
