World Food Safety Day

The Physical Science Department “MIRACLES” of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE), Mahe, observed World Food Safety Day on 7 June 2021 with the objective of creating awareness about the importance of safe and healthy food practices.
The programme highlighted the significance of food safety in maintaining good health and preventing foodborne diseases. Students were sensitized to the importance of proper food handling, storage, and hygiene in everyday life. The event emphasized that ensuring food safety is a shared responsibility among producers, suppliers, and consumers.
During the programme, discussions were held on topics such as contamination of food, safe preparation methods, and the importance of maintaining cleanliness in kitchens and food preparation areas. The programme also stressed the need for awareness about nutritional value and healthy eating habits.
The observance of World Food Safety Day helped students understand the scientific aspects of food safety and encouraged them to promote healthy and hygienic food practices in society.
