The IQAC of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE), Mahe, successfully organized the third session of its Faculty Webinar Series on the topic “Statistical Approaches to Test Data Analysis and Interpretation.” The programme was conducted from 30th March 2026 to 2nd April 2026 at the College Auditorium.

The session aimed to enhance the statistical competencies of faculty members and teacher trainees, particularly in analyzing and interpreting test data effectively. The resource person for the programme was Mr. Nithinlal V, Assistant Professor, MCCTE, who demonstrated deep expertise in the field of educational statistics.

Throughout the four-day session, Mr. Nithinlal elaborated on various statistical techniques essential for educational evaluation, including measures of central tendency, dispersion, and methods of interpreting student performance data. The sessions were highly interactive, incorporating practical examples and real-life data analysis to ensure better understanding and application.

MEHENDI CONTEST (MEHQUEEN 2K26)

The IQAC, in association with the Ektha College Union of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, organized a Mehendi competition titled “Mehqueen 2K26” as part of its co-curricular and cultural enrichment activities. The event aimed to encourage creativity, aesthetic expression, and appreciation of traditional art forms among students.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of the General Co-ordinator Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal, with Mr. Arun U (Assistant Professor) serving as the IQAC Co-ordinator and Mr. Vipin K (Assistant Professor) as the Union Co-ordinator. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, showcasing a wide variety of intricate and innovative mehendi designs.

Participants demonstrated exceptional skill, creativity, and precision in their work. The competition provided a platform for students to exhibit their artistic talents and cultural awareness. The judging criteria included design complexity, neatness, originality, and overall presentation.

Mahabba 2026 – Iftar Meet

The IQAC in association with the Ektha College Union of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe organized Mahabba 2026 – Iftar Meet” on Wednesday, 11 March 2026 at 6:30 p.m. The programme was conducted as part of welcoming the holy month of Ramadan, promoting the values of peace, harmony, and togetherness among students and staff.

The event aimed to foster communal harmony, mutual respect, and cultural understanding within the college community. Students, teachers, and staff members gathered to observe the spirit of Ramadan and participate in the Iftar gathering. The programme created a warm and inclusive atmosphere where everyone could come together and share the values of compassion, mercy, and spiritual reflection associated with the holy month.

The gathering began with a brief introduction about the significance of Ramadan and the importance of fasting, charity, and self-discipline in Islam. The participants were encouraged to reflect on the universal values of peace, empathy, and unity that the month represents. The programme emphasized the importance of building harmony and respect among people of different cultures and beliefs.

After the formal part of the programme, the participants joined together for the Iftar meal, sharing traditional food items and refreshments. The shared meal strengthened the sense of community and fellowship among the attendees.

Debate Competition – International Women’s Day Celebration

The IQAC in association with ASTHRA Women Cell of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe organized a Debate Competition as part of the International Women’s Day Celebration on 10 March 2026 at 3:00 PM in the College Auditorium.

The topic of the debate was “Marriage: A decision of the heart, not a duty of culture.” The programme aimed to encourage students to critically reflect on social norms, gender roles, and the concept of personal choice in marriage. The debate provided a platform for students to express their opinions, develop logical reasoning, and enhance their communication skills.

Students actively participated in the debate and presented thoughtful arguments both in favour of and against the topic. The participants highlighted various perspectives related to individual freedom, cultural traditions, societal expectations, and the importance of mutual understanding in marriage. The discussion was lively and intellectually stimulating, encouraging students to think deeply about issues related to gender equality and personal autonomy.

The IQAC in association with ASTHRA Women Cell of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe organized a Quiz Competition as part of the International Women’s Day Celebration on 10 March 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the College Auditorium.

The objective of the quiz competition was to enhance students’ knowledge and awareness about women’s achievements, gender equality, social issues, and important milestones related to women’s empowerment. The competition encouraged students to actively engage in learning about the contributions of women in various fields such as science, literature, politics, sports, and social reform.

Students participated enthusiastically in the quiz, which included a variety of rounds covering topics related to women’s history, notable personalities, and contemporary issues concerning women’s rights. The event created an interactive and competitive atmosphere, allowing participants to test their knowledge while also learning new information.

The IQAC in association with ASTHRA Women Cell of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe organized the Women Cell Inauguration on 10 March 2026 at 10:00 AM in the College Auditorium. The programme was conducted with the objective of promoting women’s empowerment, gender equality, and awareness among students.

The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Rtn. Vijayaraja Mallika, a renowned writer and poet. During the programme, the Women Cell named “ASTHRA” was officially inaugurated, marking an important step in strengthening initiatives related to women’s development and empowerment within the institution.

The chief guest delivered an inspiring address emphasizing the importance of women’s education, self-confidence, and leadership in society. She also highlighted the role of educational institutions in nurturing empowered and socially responsible women.
