“Dil Say” Love Letter Competition – Valentine’s Week 2026

As part of the Valentine’s Week celebrations, the Ektha College Union of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, organised a “Dil Say” Love Letter Competition on 13th February 2026.

The competition invited students to write a love letter to their anonymous crush, encouraging creativity, emotional expression, and literary skills. Participants were asked to submit their entries before 10:00 a.m. through a Google Form.

The objective of the programme was to provide a platform for students to express feelings in a respectful and imaginative manner while enhancing their writing abilities. The competition promoted originality, poetic expression, and thoughtful communication.

National Women’s Day Celebration – Photo Contest 2026

As part of the National Women’s Day celebrations, the IQAC in association with the Ektha College Union organised a Photo Contest on 13th February 2026 at Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe.

The theme of the contest was “Post a Picture of Yourself with Your Inspiring Woman.” The programme aimed to honour and celebrate the influential women in the lives of students—be it mothers, teachers, mentors, relatives, or role models—who have inspired them through strength, resilience, and guidance.

Participants were invited to submit their entries before 4:30 p.m. on 13th February 2026. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who shared heartfelt photographs along with meaningful reflections on the women who shaped their aspirations and values.

The event created an atmosphere of appreciation and gratitude while reinforcing the message of women’s empowerment and equality. It provided students with an opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of women in personal and social spheres.

National Women’s Day – Speech Competition Winners

In connection with the National Women’s Day celebrations, the IQAC in association with the Ektha College Union and in collaboration with the Asthra Women Cell organised a Speech Competition on 13th February 2026 at Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe.

The competition provided a platform for students to articulate their thoughts on women’s empowerment, equality, leadership, and social transformation. Participants delivered insightful and inspiring speeches highlighting the role of women in shaping society and promoting inclusive development.

Book Review Programme – Common Hour

The IQAC, in collaboration with the English Association, organised a Book Review Programme during the Common Hour on 10th February 2026 at the General Hall (First Floor) of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal (MCCTE), who served as the General Co-ordinator. The IQAC Co-ordinator, Mr. Arun U, Assistant Professor (MCCTE), and the Teacher Co-ordinator, Ms. Aneesha T P, Assistant Professor (MCCTE), coordinated the event.

The book selected for review was A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. The reviewer presented a thoughtful and engaging analysis of the novel, highlighting its central themes of resilience, sacrifice, friendship, oppression, and the strength of women set against the socio-political backdrop of Afghanistan.

The presentation focused on:

The lives of the protagonists and their emotional struggles
The impact of war and patriarchy on women
Themes of hope, endurance, and solidarity
The author’s narrative style and powerful storytelling

Republic Day Celebration 2026

Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, proudly celebrated the 76th Republic Day of India on 26th January 2026 with great patriotic spirit and enthusiasm. The celebration was organised under the banner of the Ektha College Union 2025–26.

Republic Day marks the historic occasion when the Constitution of India came into effect on 26th January 1950, establishing India as a sovereign democratic republic. The programme was conducted to instill constitutional values, unity, integrity, and national pride among the students.

The campus was adorned with the tricolour theme, symbolising unity in diversity and the strength of the nation. The celebration highlighted the significance of the Constitution and reminded the students of their duties and responsibilities as responsible citizens of the country.

The celebration aimed to inspire the student community by reflecting on the life, philosophy, and vision of Swami Vivekananda, whose teachings continue to motivate the youth of the nation. The programme highlighted the importance of character building, self-confidence, leadership, and service to society.

NATIONAL HUMAN TRAFFICKING AWARENESS DAY

MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, observed National Human Trafficking Awareness Day on 11th January through an online awareness programme conducted via Google Meet at 9:00 p.m. The programme was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in association with the Discipline Club with the objective of creating awareness among students about the serious social issue of human trafficking.

The programme aimed to sensitize students about the causes, consequences, and preventive measures related to human trafficking. The session highlighted the importance of vigilance, legal awareness, and social responsibility in combating this global issue. Students were encouraged to act as responsible citizens and to spread awareness within society.

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas

Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the News Club, observed Pravasi Bharatiya Divas on 9 January 2026 through an online programme conducted via Google Meet at 9.00 p.m. The programme was organised with the objective of honouring the contributions of the Indian diaspora worldwide and creating awareness among students about the global presence and achievements of Indians abroad.

The observance highlighted the theme “Connecting Roots, Building Futures”, emphasising the enduring cultural, social, and emotional ties between India and its diaspora. The programme aimed to sensitise students to the role played by Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) in areas such as education, healthcare, science, business, and nation-building, both in India and across the globe.

The programme was conducted under the overall guidance of Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal, MCCTE, who served as the General Coordinator. World Day of War Orphans

Mahe Co‑operative College of Teacher Education, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Grievance Cell, observed the World Day of War Orphans on 6 January with the objective of creating awareness among students about the plight, suffering, and psychological trauma faced by children affected by war.

The programme aimed to sensitise the student community to issues of loss, displacement, human rights, and the urgent need for compassion and social responsibility towards war-affected children across the world.

As part of the observance, an awareness display was organised highlighting the realities faced by war orphans, including loss of family, lack of basic necessities, interrupted education, and emotional distress. The visuals and messages conveyed the importance of empathy, peace, and collective responsibility in rebuilding the lives of children affected by armed conflicts. The theme of the programme emphasised hope, humanity, and the need to build a better and more peaceful tomorrow.

The observance highlighted the theme “In solitude, we discover ourselves”, emphasising the value of quiet reflection, emotional balance, and self-understanding. The programme aimed to dispel common misconceptions about introversion and to create a supportive environment that recognises introverts as thoughtful, creative, and capable individuals.

The programme was organised under the overall guidance of Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal, MCCTE, who served as the General Coordinator. The programme was effectively coordinated by Mr. Arun U, Assistant Professor, MCCTE, in his role as IQAC Coordinator, along with Ms. Namitha A T, Assistant Professor, MCCTE, the Mental Well-Being Club Co-ordinator.

The student coordinators Ms. Uthara K and Ms. Nandana A actively assisted in organising the programme and contributed to its smooth conduct. The observance encouraged students to appreciate individuality, practise self-care, and understand the psychological strengths associated with introverted personalities.

The programme successfully created awareness about mental well-being and fostered a culture of acceptance, empathy, and inclusivity within the college community. The observance of World Introvert Day concluded with positive engagement and meaningful reflection among the participants.

Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, observed New Year Day 2026 with the theme “New Chapter” through an online programme organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in collaboration with the Event Management Club on 01 January 2026 at 9.00 PM via Google Meet.

The programme was organised with the objective of welcoming the New Year in a meaningful manner and motivating students and faculty members to begin the year with renewed optimism, purpose, and commitment. The session encouraged participants to reflect on past experiences and to set positive academic and personal goals for the year ahead.

The programme was conducted under the overall guidance of Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal, MCCTE, who served as the General Coordinator.
