Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe organized “Lollapalooza 2K22 – Talents Day” on 1 October 2022 to provide a platform for students to showcase their talents and creativity. The programme was conducted with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and faculty members.

The event aimed to encourage students to explore their artistic and cultural abilities and to promote confidence, teamwork, and self-expression. Students from different departments participated in a variety of performances and activities that displayed their diverse talents.

The programme included several cultural performances such as dance, music, and other creative presentations.  National Teachers’ Day Celebration

The National Teachers’ Day was celebrated on 5 September 2022 through an online programme organized by Vidyabhyasa Vikasa Kendram, Kerala. The event was conducted from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM and was streamed through YouTube Live and Google Meet, enabling participants from different places to attend the programme.

The celebration was organized to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a renowned philosopher, scholar, and former President of India, whose birthday is observed as Teachers’ Day in India. Onam 2022

 Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe celebrated Onam 2022 with great enthusiasm and cultural spirit on 3 September 2022. The celebration was organized by the College Union 2021–22 to commemorate the traditional festival of Kerala and to promote unity, joy, and cultural values among the students and staff.

The programme began with the preparation of a beautiful Pookkalam (floral carpet) arranged by the students in the college premises. The colourful floral designs reflected the festive spirit of Onam and created a vibrant atmosphere on the campus.

Various cultural programmes were organized as part of the celebration. Students actively participated in traditional performances and entertaining activities that highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Kerala. The celebration also included Onam games and other fun activities, which encouraged teamwork, enthusiasm, and active participation among the students.

COMMUNITY AWARENESS PROGRAMME

 Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe organized a Community Awareness Programme in connection with Independence Day Celebration 2022 at the College Auditorium on 15 August 2022. The programme was conducted as part of the distribution of eco-friendly bags, aiming to create awareness among the public about the eradication of plastic products and the promotion of environmentally sustainable practices.

The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, marking the formal inauguration of the event. The chief guest for the programme was Thiru. A. K. Sai J. Saravanan Kumar, who inaugurated the function and addressed the gathering. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of protecting the environment and highlighted the need to reduce the use of plastic in daily life. He encouraged the students and the community to adopt eco-friendly alternatives and work together for a cleaner and greener society.

As part of the programme, eco-friendly cloth bags were distributed to promote the campaign against plastic usage. The initiative aimed to spread awareness about the harmful effects of plastic pollution and motivate the public to switch to reusable materials.

The event was attended by the Principal, faculty members, invited dignitaries, and students of the college. During the function, distinguished guests were also felicitated in recognition of their contributions and presence at the programme.

The Fresher’s Day Celebration for the academic year 2022–23 was organized at Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe to warmly welcome the newly admitted students to the college community. The programme was conducted in the College Auditorium in a vibrant and joyful atmosphere with the participation of students and faculty members.

The celebration was arranged by the senior students to make the newcomers feel comfortable and to help them become familiar with the college environment. The event was filled with enthusiasm and excitement as the freshers were warmly received by their seniors.

 Workshop on Learning Aid Preparation

A Workshop on Learning Aid Preparation was organized by Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe on 30 July 2022 with the objective of enhancing the teaching skills of student teachers and promoting the effective use of teaching–learning materials in classrooms.

The resource person for the workshop was Sri. Dineshkumar Thekkumbad, Retired Headmaster and State Science Campaigner. The session focused on the importance of preparing creative and effective learning aids that help in making classroom teaching more interactive and meaningful.

During the workshop, the resource person explained various methods for designing and preparing low-cost and innovative teaching aids using easily available materials. He emphasized that learning aids play a vital role in simplifying complex concepts and improving students’ understanding and participation in the learning process.

Sri. Dineshkumar Thekkumbad also shared his experiences as an educator and motivated the student teachers to develop creativity and innovation while preparing instructional materials. The session was highly informative and provided practical guidance for the participants.

Student teachers actively participated in the workshop and gained valuable insights into the preparation and use of learning aids in teaching. The programme was very beneficial in helping them understand how effective teaching materials can enhance classroom learning.

The Biological Science Association of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE), Mahe organized a Creative Content Writing Competition in connection with National Girl Child Day. The programme was conducted in the college premises from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

The competition was organized with the objective of creating awareness about the importance of the girl child and promoting gender equality in society. Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe celebrated International Women’s Day on 8 March with the inauguration of the Women’s Cell and the organization of a Blood Donation Camp. The programme was conducted at 9:30 AM in the College Auditorium with the aim of promoting women’s empowerment, awareness, and social responsibility among students.

The programme began with the gathering of students, faculty members, and guests. The chief guest of the function was Smt. Reena Marie David, Sub Inspector of Police, Coastal Police Station, Mahe. She inaugurated the Women’s Cell and addressed the audience.

In her speech, the chief guest highlighted the importance of women’s empowerment, gender equality, and the role of women in society. She encouraged students to be confident, courageous, and responsible citizens, and stressed the need to stand against discrimination and injustice. Her inspiring words motivated the students to actively participate in initiatives that support women’s rights and social welfare.

The Physical Science Association of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE), Mahe was inaugurated on 28 February 2022 at 10:00 AM in the College Auditorium. The programme was organized as part of the celebration of National Science Day, aiming to promote scientific awareness and encourage students to develop interest in scientific inquiry and innovation.

The programme began with a prayer by Mrs. Haripriya K, a student of the Physical Science Department. This was followed by the welcome address delivered by Mrs. Vindhya M, Assistant Professor, MCCTE, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, and students present for the function.

The presidential address was delivered by Ms. Anjali Unnikrishnan, the Association Secretary of the Physical Science Department. She emphasized the importance of science education and highlighted the role of the association in organizing activities that foster scientific thinking among students.

The Physical Science Association was formally inaugurated by Mrs. Seema Sreelayam, Teacher in Chemistry, science writer, columnist, and recipient of the Kerala State Science Literature Award. In her inaugural address, she spoke about the significance of science in everyday life and encouraged students to develop curiosity, creativity, and a scientific temperament.

The function included felicitations by Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal of MCCTE; Dr. Muhammad Ali, Assistant Professor, MCCTE; and Mrs. Shibina C, Commerce Association Secretary, who appreciated the efforts of the Physical Science Department in organizing the programme.

As part of the event, Ms. Nidhu S.V., a student of the Physical Science Department, delivered a talk on National Science Day, highlighting the importance of scientific progress and innovation for the development of society.

The English Association of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE), Mahe was inaugurated on 21 February 2022 at 2:00 PM in the College Auditorium. The programme was organized by the English Department to promote literary activities and enhance students’ language and communication skills.

The programme began with a prayer by Ms. Ashwini and Ms. Arunima, students of the English Department. This was followed by a welcome dance, which added colour and enthusiasm to the inaugural function. Mrs. Bindu P. V., Assistant Professor in English, delivered the welcome address, warmly greeting the guests and participants.

The presidential address was delivered by Ms. Aiswarya V. V., Association Secretary of the English Department, who highlighted the objectives and importance of the English Association in encouraging students to actively participate in literary and cultural activities.

The inauguration of the association and the name revealing ceremony was performed by Dr. P. Suresh Gaya, the chief guest of the programme. His presence and inspiring words motivated the students to develop their literary interests and communication skills.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations – 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence

Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE), Mahe organized a series of programmes in connection with the 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence, celebrated as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The celebrations aimed to commemorate India’s freedom struggle, honour the sacrifices of national leaders, and inspire students to uphold the values of patriotism and national unity.

As part of the celebration, a variety of programmes and activities were conducted from February to July 2022, encouraging active participation from students and faculty members.

The programmes began on 23 February 2022 with a Fancy Dress Competition based on the theme “National Heroes.” Students dressed up as prominent freedom fighters and historical personalities, highlighting their contributions to India’s independence movement.

On 26 March 2022, a Tablo presentation on the theme “Vasudeva Kudumbam” was conducted, emphasizing the idea of universal brotherhood and harmony among people.

A PowerPoint Presentation competition titled “Achievements @75” was organized on 26 April 2022, where students presented the significant achievements and progress of India over the past 75 years in various fields such as science, technology, education, and social development.

On 26 May 2022, a cleanliness drive titled “Actions @75” was organized. Students participated in cleaning the Mahe walkways and surrounding areas, promoting the importance of civic responsibility and environmental awareness.

A seminar on the theme “Resolve @75” was conducted on 28 June 2022, where students discussed their responsibilities in contributing to the nation’s future development.

The celebrations concluded on 26 July 2022 with a Grand Quiz Competition on the theme “Freedom Struggle.” The quiz tested students’ knowledge about India’s independence movement and the contributions of freedom fighters.

The Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations at MCCTE successfully instilled a sense of patriotism, national pride, and social responsibility among the students. The series of programmes provided a platform for students to learn about India’s rich history and to reflect on their role in building a better future for the nation.

The English Department of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE), Mahe organized a programme on 30 January 2022 in observance of Martyrs’ Day and World Leprosy Day. The programme aimed to pay tribute to the great leaders and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation and to create awareness about the importance of eliminating leprosy and supporting those affected by the disease.

As part of the programme, several competitions were organized for the students to encourage participation and creative expression. The competitions included Speech (5 minutes), Poster Making (Online), Slogan Writing, Poem Recitation, and Collage Making. The activities provided students with an opportunity to express their thoughts on themes such as patriotism, sacrifice, social responsibility, and the need to eradicate leprosy from society.

Students actively participated in the competitions and demonstrated their creativity, communication skills, and awareness of social issues. The programme also highlighted the message that martyrs continue to live in the hearts of the people as sources of inspiration, and emphasized the importance of collective efforts in addressing social challenges like leprosy.
