Voluntary Blood Donation Camp
A Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was organized at Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE), Mahe on 8 March 2022 at 9:30 AM in connection with International Women’s Day. The programme was conducted in association with the Malabar Cancer Centre Blood Bank, Thalassery, with the aim of promoting social responsibility and encouraging voluntary blood donation among students and the public.
The blood donation camp was organized with the support of Blood Donors Kerala Charitable Society and Lions Club, Mahe. The programme was inaugurated by Smt. Reena Marie David, Sub Inspector of Police, Coastal Police Station, Mahe, who appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of voluntary blood donation in saving lives. She encouraged the youth to actively participate in such humanitarian activities and contribute to society.
Sri. K. N. Dhanya, Secretary of Blood Donors Kerala (Mahe Chapter), presided over the function, while Sri. Nidhin Narayanan, President of the K. C. Welfare Forum, delivered the felicitation address. They highlighted the significance of blood donation and the role of community participation in supporting patients who require blood during emergencies.
The medical team from Malabar Cancer Centre Blood Bank, Thalassery efficiently managed the blood collection process. Many students, staff members, and volunteers actively participated in the camp and donated blood with great enthusiasm.
The programme was a great success and reflected the spirit of compassion and social commitment among the participants. The event served as a meaningful initiative to support healthcare services and to create awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation in society.
