Physical Science Association Inauguration 2022
The Physical Science Association of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE), Mahe was inaugurated on 28 February 2022 at 10:00 AM in the College Auditorium. The programme was organized as part of the celebration of National Science Day, aiming to promote scientific awareness and encourage students to develop interest in scientific inquiry and innovation.
The programme began with a prayer by Mrs. Haripriya K, a student of the Physical Science Department. This was followed by the welcome address delivered by Mrs. Vindhya M, Assistant Professor, MCCTE, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, and students present for the function.
The presidential address was delivered by Ms. Anjali Unnikrishnan, the Association Secretary of the Physical Science Department. She emphasized the importance of science education and highlighted the role of the association in organizing activities that foster scientific thinking among students.
The Physical Science Association was formally inaugurated by Mrs. Seema Sreelayam, Teacher in Chemistry, science writer, columnist, and recipient of the Kerala State Science Literature Award. In her inaugural address, she spoke about the significance of science in everyday life and encouraged students to develop curiosity, creativity, and a scientific temperament.
The function included felicitations by Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal of MCCTE; Dr. Muhammad Ali, Assistant Professor, MCCTE; and Mrs. Shibina C, Commerce Association Secretary, who appreciated the efforts of the Physical Science Department in organizing the programme.
As part of the event, Ms. Nidhu S.V., a student of the Physical Science Department, delivered a talk on National Science Day, highlighting the importance of scientific progress and innovation for the development of society.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Dilna Narayanan, a student of the Physical Science Department, expressing gratitude to the chief guest, faculty members, and students for their participation and support.
The event was informative and inspiring, marking a meaningful beginning for the activities of the Physical Science Association for the academic year 2022.
