The Physics Club of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, conducted an Elocution Competition on 28 June 2024 at 9:50 AM. The programme aimed to enhance students’ scientific communication skills, confidence, and ability to articulate physics-related ideas effectively.

The event began with a welcome address by the club coordinator, who highlighted the importance of public speaking in the academic and professional development of student teachers. Participants were given physics-based themes such as the role of physics in modern technology, space exploration, renewable energy, climate change, and contributions of notable physicists.

Students delivered well-prepared speeches, presenting their ideas with clarity, confidence, and scientific accuracy. The competition provided a platform for them to express their understanding of physics concepts while improving their oratory skills. The audience benefited from the informative and thought-provoking content shared by the participants.

Faculty members served as judges and evaluated the speeches based on content relevance, clarity, presentation, confidence, and time management. Constructive feedback was provided to help students further enhance their communication and scientific expression.

The programme concluded with the announcement of winners and a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the principal, faculty members, coordinators, and participants. SHOW AND TELL ACTIVITY

The English Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Show and Tell activity on 25th July 2024 at 2:00 PM with the objective of enhancing students’ speaking skills, confidence, creativity, and ability to express ideas clearly in English. The programme aimed to provide students with a supportive platform to practice communication in an engaging and interactive manner.

The programme began with a brief introduction explaining the purpose and format of the Show and Tell activity. Students were asked to bring an object of their choice and speak about it in front of their peers. Participants confidently presented a variety of items such as books, photographs, handmade crafts, daily-use objects, and memorable personal items. Each student explained the significance, background, and personal connection of the chosen object.

Students showed great enthusiasm while presenting and demonstrated improvements in pronunciation, vocabulary usage, clarity of speech, and body language. The activity encouraged creativity, self-expression, and attentive listening among the audience. Faculty coordinators guided the students by offering constructive feedback on voice modulation, sentence structure, and presentation style.

The interactive nature of the activity helped students overcome stage fear and build confidence in public speaking. Students also learned to respect others’ ideas and presentations while developing better communication etiquette.

Students were encouraged to explore the connection between music and drama and understand how musical elements strengthen theatrical performances.

The Sports Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized a session of Recreational Activities on 15 July 2024 at 3:30 p.m. in the college campus.
