NATIONAL CONSTITUTION DAY

November 26th National Constitution Day of India

National Constitution Day also known as 'Samvidhan Divas', is celebrated in our country on 26th November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26th November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, which came into effect from 26th January 1950.

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on 19th November 2015 notified the decision of Government of India to celebrate the 26th day of November every year as 'Constitution Day' to promote Constitution values among citizens.

On 28th November, MCCTE celebrated the Constitution Day of India under the leadership of Social Science department. Pravitha gave an introductory talk about Constitutional Day of India, followed by a quiz competition on the topic " Indian Constitution". Hridhya & Anusree were the quiz masters. The Physical science department and Biological science department won the competition.

INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ELIMINATION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women is a period of 16 days of activism against gender-based violence which is observed from the 25th of November to the 10th of December every year since 1981 to increase the public awareness of the adverse impacts of violence against women on one's health and society and to reaffirm the commitment of working together inclusively.


Mahe co-operative college of teacher education, Mahe conducted this programme on 27th November as 25th November was not a working day. The programme was led by English department. A talk was conducted by Fiza Salim, to create awareness about this global problem.

Every November 23rd, Fibonacci Day honors Leonardo Bonacci, one of the most influential mathematicians of the Middle Ages. The date corresponds to the first numbers of the Fibonacci sequence-112 3. Fibonacci is an Italian mathematician who is also known as Leonardo of Pisa and Leonardo Fibonacci.


At the assembly, A talk was organised on Fibonacci day. It was handled by Mayoogha first year B.Edmathematics student. She talked about the history and significance of Fibonacci day.

In December 1996 the United Nations proclaimed 21 November as World Television Day commemorating the date on which the first World Television Forum was held in 1996.

A talk was organised on World Television Day. It was handled by Abhishek V, first year B.Ed Physical science student. He talked about television and why television day is celebrated.

UNION INAUGURATION, FINE ARTS CLUB AND SUBJECT ASSOCIATION INAUGURATION 2023-24

 Mahe Cooperative College of Teacher Education Inaugurated the College Union, Fine Arts Club & Subject Association on 18th November 2023 from the college auditorium. The program started with a prayer initiated by Ms. Akshaya Lakshman R.P. & Ms. Neehara M.S. This was followed by an enthralling welcome dance by Sneha C. The welcome speech was presented by Mr. Ashil A.K (General Secretary, College Union). The Presidential Address was delivered by Mr. Aswanth V. (Chairman, College Union). The Union Inauguration was marked by the lighting of the lamp along with college union name and logo revealing by Sri. Sajith Narayanan (President, MCCIT, Mahe). The College Union was named "MERAKI". Following this, Fine Arts And Subject Association Inauguration was led by the chief guest Sri. Veerankutty (Poet), Retired Professor) with a talk. Following this, felicitation was given out by the directors of MCCIT, Mahe Sri. T. M. Sudhakaran, Sri.P. C. Divanandan, Payatta Aravindan; Sri. Dr. Sreelatha. K (Principal, MCCTE, Mahe), Mr. Abhinav M. (Second Year Class Representative), Ms. Saga. P. Krishna (First Year Class Representative). On this auspicious occasion, various prizes were distributed such as the Chairman's Attendance Excellence Award for the recognition for outstanding attendance, Honoring Toppers in University Examination- 2023, students who suggested camp name, camp song, camp logo, camp newspaper, Union name and Union logo. The vote of thanks was given by Ms. Syandhana A. (Fine Arts Secretary). The official ceremonies came to and end with the singing of National Anthem. During the afternoon session there was an energetic performance by Dhruvam Brother's chenda melam with violin fusion. This event showcased a blend of cultural richness, academic achievements, and institutional gratitude, setting a positive tone for the academic year.

Celebration Of National Journalism Day

National Journalism Day is celebrated on 17th November in India. It is considered as a day of recognition and appreciation for the relentless efforts of Journalists who dedicate their lives to uncovering truth, reporting stories, and shaping public discourse.

Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe celebrated this day on 17th of November. The programme was led by the English Department. A talk was conducted to give the students awareness of the importance of the day. Along with that, a NEWS reading competition was held where the students from various departments read a small article.

The winner of the competition was Ms. Shana from Physical Science department. By conducting this programme, the students were enlightened on the importance of a Journalist's role and their contributions to the society and nation.

World Diabetes Day is the primary global awareness campaign focusing on diabetes mellitus and it is marked every year on 14th November, the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who co- discovered insulin along with Charles Best in 1922. The theme for World Diabetes Day 2021-23 is access to diabetes care. 14th November was another special day, so we celebrated Diabetes Day on 15th November.


Abhinand Sasi K, first year B.Ed Physical science student, presented a speech on the cause and prevention of diabetes which is one of our life style diseases. After that, a cartoon competition was organised at the department level in connection with topic "diabetes awareness". Athira Pavithran from first year B.Ed English department secured the first position and Drishya Chandran VP from first year B.Ed Mathematics department secured the second position.

The Guidance and Counselling Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Guest Lecture Session on 12th November 2023 at 3:00 PM with the aim of enhancing students’ understanding of personal development, emotional well-being, and academic success strategies.

The programme began with a welcome address, followed by the introduction of the guest lecturer, an expert in the field of guidance and counselling. The resource person delivered an informative and engaging session focusing on key areas such as:

  • Understanding student behaviour and emotional needs

  • Importance of self-awareness and self-regulation

  • Techniques for managing stress and academic pressure

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Building resilience and maintaining positive mental health

The lecture was made interactive through questions, discussions, and real-life examples that helped students relate to the content. The resource person encouraged students to adopt healthy coping mechanisms, seek support when needed, and cultivate a balanced approach to academics and personal life.

Participants actively engaged with the session, expressing their thoughts and clarifying their doubts. The programme offered valuable insights that will help students navigate challenges and enhance their personal well-being.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the resource person for their meaningful contribution and appreciating the active participation of students.

The Guest Lecture Session was a successful and enriching programme, strengthening the Guidance and Counselling Club’s commitment to supporting students’ mental health, personal growth, and academic development.

National Education Day is observed on 11th November every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Shri Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first education minister of independent India. November 11 every year, from 2008 onwards, will be celebrated as the National Educational Day.

Education Day. The subject of the 2023 National Education Day is "Embracing Innovation," which highlights the significance of using cutting-edge and creative teaching strategies in the classroom.

At the assembly, Amrutha first year B.Ed mathematics student delivered a speech on National education day and about Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad. After that, poster competition conducted onthe theme of "contributions of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad in establishment of educational foundation in India". Ashil A.K delivered a speech about the importance of World children day. We the students and teachers of biological science organized a debate on the topic" Social media influence on childrens". The debate was moderated by Abijith. Each and every student participated in the debate and came up with astonishing points regarding both merit and demerit. The debate was successful session. We got wonderful feedbacks from students and teachers.

BLOOD DONATION CAMP

 

BLOOD DONATION CAMP

The Science Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe organized a Blood Donation Camp on 9th November 2023 at 9:30 AM with the objective of promoting social responsibility, raising awareness about the importance of blood donation, and encouraging students to contribute to lifesaving community services.

The programme began with an inaugural address explaining the significance of voluntary blood donation and its crucial role in saving lives during medical emergencies, surgeries, and long-term treatments. Students were encouraged to understand the value of donor participation in strengthening healthcare services.

1. Collaboration and Setup

The camp was conducted in collaboration with a local medical team and blood bank unit, who arranged the required equipment and ensured hygienic and safe procedures. A temporary donation area was set up with registration desks, screening stations, and resting facilities.

2. Donor Registration and Screening

Participants registered for donation and underwent standard health checks, including:

  • Blood pressure measurement

  • Hemoglobin level check

  • Medical history assessment

  • General physical examination

Only medically eligible donors were approved to proceed with the donation.

3. Blood Donation Process

The donation process was carried out smoothly under the supervision of trained medical professionals. Students and faculty members who donated blood showed enthusiasm and a strong sense of service. Each donor was appreciated for their contribution.

4. Post-Donation Care

After donating, participants were provided with:

  • Refreshments for energy replenishment

  • Guidance on aftercare

  • Certificates of appreciation for their noble act

The medical team ensured that all donors were comfortable and well monitored.

5. Awareness and Motivation

Throughout the event, volunteers and coordinators spread awareness about:

  • The need for regular blood donation

  • Myths and misconceptions about blood donation

  • Health benefits associated with being a donor

  • The importance of community participation in healthcare initiatives

6. Outcome of the Camp

The camp successfully encouraged students to engage in humanitarian service and created a positive attitude toward voluntary blood donation. Several units of blood were collected and handed over to the partnering blood bank to support patients in need.

The programme concluded with a message appreciating the donors and highlighting that donating blood is a simple yet impactful act that can save multiple lives.

The Blood Donation Camp was a meaningful and impactful initiative, reflecting the Science Club’s commitment to promoting community welfare, health awareness, and social responsibility among students.

College Celebration For State Level AIDS Awareness Skit Competition Victory.


 CELEBRATION FOR AIDS AWARENESS SKIT COMPETITION VICTORY

          Mahe Co operative College of Teacher Education celebrated a momentous achievement as the skit team garnered victory at the state-level skit competition on AIDS awareness held by AIDS control society at Pondicherry. The college administration took pride in the team's accomplishment and organized a special event to recognize and congratulate the skit team. College officials, faculty members, and fellow students gathered to applaud the team's success.

 The anchoring was done by Ms. Aashraya Jayakumar. The program started with a dance by Sanjitha and team. The team members of the play along with the teachers incharge were welcomed on stage with a garland. The President Mr. Sajith Narayanan, Principal Dr. Sreelatha K and a few Director board members congratulated the college for the team's victory. To immortalize the achievement, certificates were distributed to each member of the skit team. This was followed by gifting a photo frame of the team by the college Union to the college. The celebratory mood was further heightened with a cake-cutting ceremony. The vote of thanks wasdelivered by Mr. Aswanth. Finally the ceremony came to and end with the team members sharing their experiences.
