The Guidance and Counselling Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Mental Awareness Campaign on 24th September 2023 at 11:00 AM with the objective of promoting emotional well-being, reducing stigma around mental health, and encouraging students to adopt healthy coping strategies.

The programme began with a welcome address, followed by an introduction to the importance of mental health awareness, especially among students who face academic pressures and various personal challenges. The event emphasized the need to recognize mental health as equally important as physical health.

As part of the campaign, the club organized:

  • Awareness Talks: Highlighting common mental health issues, early warning signs, self-care practices, and the importance of seeking help when needed.

  • Interactive Activities: Engaging students in discussions, reflection exercises, and sharing sessions to help them express their thoughts and experiences openly.

  • Awareness Posters and Messages: Displayed around the campus to encourage positivity, mindfulness, and emotional support.

The session witnessed active participation from students, who showed interest in understanding mental health concepts and learning practical techniques to improve their emotional resilience. The resource person also guided students on managing stress, maintaining balance, and supporting peers who might be struggling.

The programme concluded with a strong message encouraging students to prioritize mental well-being, practice empathy, and seek professional support whenever necessary.

The Mental Awareness Campaign was an effective initiative, reinforcing the Guidance and Counselling Club’s commitment to building a supportive, informed, and mentally healthy campus environment.
